What's new

open vix image slow

Didn't you have a fully working ok version running in your receiver, why update , didn't you make a backup incase you ran into problems.

1 use a stable version
2 latest Ncam or Oscam built in icam stream relay settings
3 reliable server
Any plugins you don't require remove, keep image as basic , no bloat etc
I might just test vix in a boot slot on my solo 4k tonight. The issue i have with vix is that unlike other images installing say ncam 14.9 via an ipk does not work. I know it was mentioned earlier about using the telnet commands to extract the ipk but they do make it so difficult. I have found it's like one step forward and two steps backwards. To the people who use vix images are you saying that using the inbuilt version of oscam will also now clear sky de and uk without messing around with loads of settings. I know people who have also installed vix images and they cannot even get into the webif so see what is happening within oscam. Oscam is working as the channels are clearing but access to the webif seems restricted even though the web if is set correctly in the config settings.

If anyone knows the telnet command to install files from the tmp files please post it below.

I'll agree with you on all of that , Atv a lot easier to set-up. Struggled all weekend trying to get vhannibal icam list and levi45 to install both ( ipk and telent) methods.

Why not just install ncam from the plugin server?

ViX does not use the same cam control methods so probably why it doesn't work if you use an ipk for a different image.

opkg install /tmp/*.ipk

Don't vix also remove some other files is it "curl". I know that in the past they made it really difficult to use cccam 2.3.9 i think. Now that's a long time ago. I know that if i tried for example a version of oscam maybe the semur uk altered version it would not install but if i then downloaded a version of oscam from within the vix online server then tried again with the semur version it would install. I think same again with ncam. I know its vix's way of making an image no so illigal in much the same way openatv have no cams installed. It does really make it a pain in the arse though.

So all this what u guys have sed is right then I thought I was doing some thing right in the first place

Dont you have to pay for Sky germany??? Your loop is in the wrong place and too severe!!

It does. You are doing something wrong. It's very difficult to help you because one minute you have sorted it, then you say it isn't working.

Although what you post makes sense to you, most times it is intelligible.

You don't upload what you are using, you insist on people posting what they use even though they have sign posted you to what to use.

You were confused about what the stream relay file is, you were the first person to comment in the thread last autumn.

You won't even get TeamViewer to work, so helping you remotely is not possible.

You are using a different image that works, enjoy it. Forget ViX

Start your own thread as it will get lost in this one.

There are different versions of curl. If an ipk has a dependency on a package that is not available, it will fail to install. Samur does not provide an ipk, the ipk on the other forum was compiled by myself, dsayer and Jensen. The script control method depends on a softcam being installed before it becomes available.

Ideally, the default configs should be changed and the check for configs for the old control method should not be invoked when not being used.

We hit a brick wall trying to get it changed. If it doesn't work for you, use an image that works with what you want to use.

I don't need to start another thread as i'm don't need any help with vix i was just pointing out some issues i have seen with the images. I may have a play with the latest image tonight to see what's what. But as said i know other images and choose these over vix but that's just my preference. Everyone has there preferences and if people choose vix good on them.

I agree but the make it hard to do things I don’t no why do u if there is an easy way why don’t there do it the. ncam doesn’t open sky Germany there say it dose

Thank u I felt that like that with the vix image. Vix is just a pain to do things with

So a very quick set up this evening of vix 6 6 005 1/8/2025 on the solo4k. Using a stock channel list from vhannabal from the plugins menu and ncam direct from the plugins menu. If you try and start ncam it wont start as it says the configs are missing.. On checking var/tuxbox/config there is a folder within config called ncam. I could not be bothered playing with the configs so copied my own configs into both var/tuxbox/config and var/tuxbox/config/ncam and rebooted the box. Ncam started and i had access to the ncam webif. Turned to 19e opened the skyde channel from bouquets and tried a channel. Not clearing. Tried the same but asked the channel to play via stream relay and it cleared. Tried a few more channels and they cleared fine. Turned to 28.2e and same again. Not as easy to open but got most of the ones i tried to clear.
