Skybox F3?

Hi there I'm trying to download latest firmware for Skybox f3 when I dump the cccam.cfc onto the USB stick how can I view it onto a notepad on the computer and also how to I unzip the latest firmware file any help will be great.

right click. open with notepad or notepad++ which ever you are using.

If you don't get the "open with" option when you right-click, then there are other ways to view it.

The simplest is to change the extension from .cfg to .txt then just double-click it.

...or you could open Notepad first & open the file using the "All files (*.*)" option.

...or you could double-click the file. Windows will say that it cannot open this file, what do you want to do? Choose "Select a program from a list of installed programs". Untick "Always use the selected program to open this type of file". Select Notepad, then OK. (This is using Vista. It may be slightly different for other OS's).

I think you have asked about unzipping files before. There are many free programs that will do this. My favourite is IZArc.

So have you used Winrar now to unpack the firmware file, or is it still compressed?

are you just updating the firmware

if you are updating the firmare
1. extract the file ypu have downloaded to a usb pen
2. then place the usb into your skybox
3. goto tools/upgrade by usb
4. in the top box it should say something like image file
5. move down select the file off your usb stick.
6. make sure dbs says "no"
7. click upgrade or something like that
leave for about a mintue and the box should restart with your new firmware applied.

If you have installed Winrar, then when you right click on the compressed firmware file you should see options such as "Extract here" to extract to the same folder as the compressed file, or "Extract Files..." if you want to extract to a different location.

Once you have done this, follow mike123's post above.

After I upgraded the firmware onto the Skybox f3 it still has the 19/11/12 firmware. This should be a clone box.

I'm getting an error file mismatch Is there anything I can do to change this?

Where is the best link for the updated list as I have list bt sport espn hd etc and I believe sky Christmas is launching dec1st ,and if I do upgrade my list does it affect my 12month gift
