Adding Hard Drive

Hi guys,

Just a quick noob question :)

How do I set up a new Hard Drive on the H2S? Thanks

Been asked and answered loads of times before.
Will depend on if your running ATV or vix on your box as to where in the menus you need to go.
The basics are plug it in the front leaving whatever you were using before in the back, initialise the HDD, shut down the box, unplug your old device from the back, plug the HDD in the back, restart box, check mounts to make sure its mounted as media/hdd, setup a swap file and that should be it.
Like I said without knowing what image your running I can't be more specific

Hi djgarf. I've had my zgemmah2s for a couple of days which is running open vix with sly skin and I've just got an external hard drive to allow me to pause, rewind, record etc. Could you give me some instructions on how to set it up please. I'm totally clueless and terrified I'll do something to mess up the whole set up. Thanks.

I don't use openvix so not sure where in the menus things are when compared with openatv.

Hi guys. My box is frozen in Boot mode after I tried to connect an external hard drive. I put it into deep stand by mode connected the hard drive and when I turned it back on it says Boot but is not then going through the n7mbets it's just frozen. What can I do? Please help.

Hi,

just a thought.....but maybe you should have powered off at the back after the deep standby,
then add the drive, and power up again.

Yeah think you're prob right. It's all back up and working now and I just plugged a USB stick in with out turning off or anything and it's working so maybe just don't power down at all.
