Iptv on 2 devices, using a single line.

My provider allows me to use my sub on two separate enigma 2 devices. The problem I have is that when I’m watching tv (football) on device no 1 the wife kicks me out to another room which has device no.2. When both boxes are on at the same time, freezing occurs because I have a single line. So what I want to do is put the wife on freeview (sat device 1) while I watch iptv ( device 2).
I basically need to temporarily disable iptv on device one as she can watch freeview on it this will mean device 2 doesn’t freeze when I turn it on.
Now to my question, does anyone know a quick/easy method to close of the iptv on device 1. Can’t switch off the box as want to use it for freeview. Can’t pause it. I probably could pullout the Ethernet cable but hoping for a better solution. Any ideas?

As long as you are not watching an iptv channel on one box the other one should work fine. You say you get freezing if both are on at same time. Shouldn't you just get one box stop completely if they are on same sub. Are you sure you don't have two subscriptions on a poor Server?

It turns out I can watch iptv on 1 box and freeview in another. Device 2 is a long way from the router using a WiFi dongle, so internet isn’t great. Tried with Ethernet and seems to be ok. Thanks

did i hear wifi, dont best way is hard wired with cable and by any chance using a vm hub if so use on modem mode and if needed external router?

It was just a trial with my older h2s using the WiFi dongle. I’ll end up using tp homeplugs like I do on new device.
Using Eir broadband with their own modem/router. Was using ASUS dsl ac66u router but speeds suddenly dropped.
To help people in the future I’m Going to create a new thread regarding the router, so I look forward to your views. Thanks

it seems to be well know that wifi can drop connection or freezing as speed is reduced on vm hub, putting it into modem mode switches off wifi but if people want to use a laptop and wanting a wifi connection is best to add a wifi router, sorry cant name one as not used.
there should be a number of posts on forum with same issue and fix.

Not if you buy a proper router. I'd be more worried with those plug things. But for testing out an issue I agree wire up everything to rule out Wi-Fi
