f5 box issue - channel 1-54 freeze

Hi all. I've been using a f5 box with no issues for a few years with no problems.

I now have an issue when i click on any bbc / ITV channels 1 -54 the box freezes (not the typical scramble message) an actual screen / box freeze which can only be fixed by a box turn off and restart.

I originally thought this was a technical issue rather than a programming issue however when I do a programme search, the search freezes when it finds the same bbc / itv channels? I.e sll skys channels working no prob.

As of yesterday it became a real issue as the mrs went to a bbc channel and froze the box. When i tried to turn the box on, it automatically starts on a bbc channel straight away and so freezes the box straight away so i can't even access the menu screen.

I'm after a bit of guidance to understand whether you think i do need to purchase a new box or whether i need someone to reset the box?

Update your box with latest firmware---only if your box is genuinethen install up to date channel list
If your box is genuine then you can use skybox firmware for f5 from SkyBox | SkyBox
If your box is a clone then I recommend a new box as no clone firmware available.

Hi, I have this same issue!!! I have resorted to watching the SD channels. It started with BT Sp. HD, then spread to BBC HD ITV HD etc.

To avoid the immediate crash, have your remote ready and change channels immediately after the opening skybox splash screen, just hammer the channel up or down button.

Let me know if you managed to solve this issue.
