Hi can anyone help, I am trying to run the bin file however keep getting the following error message:

Cant open serial portCom1
Please check ifthe Com port has the following parameters:
Baudrate: 115200bps
Parity: no parity
Databyte: 8bit/data
Stop bit: 1

I am using a serial cable with a usb converter and have installed the driver for this.

pls can anyone help ?

Hi ehsan

You need to plug in the usb lead so the computer
recognises it then in devise manager change to
baudrate to 115200 for the com port the lead is plugged into.
Usb convertor leads sometimes dont give a good connection and you will get
"download not requested" but if you have the above settings
you may just need to give it a couple of wiggles
where it joins your null modem cable to get it to work👍

usb serial adaptor

Hi Bees and thanks for the advice , I am using windows vista and in computer manager the usb serial controller comes up under other devices ? and does not give any options relation to com ports ?

correct cable is a null modem which has a cross over wire for flashing boxes, identical cable is a serial cable which is wired straight and wont work and you go bald trying to flash your box:)

Probably one of two options,

Option 1 You are using the wrong net id, it is not always the one closest to you,
Try, restore to factory default settings, delete all the channels and rescan on another net id.

Then repeat until you get a full channel list. ( I am in liverpool but scan out of Manchester 2)
lots of other net id's closer but don't give me a full list.

Option 2
They are messing with the kryptview server, and channels come and go.

Usually if SS2 or another popular channel is missing someone will moan about it
being missing and others confirm they don't have it too, then we know its this option.
The channel will just re appear if it is this as the box scans for channels whilst on standby

As you have just got up and running try a few different net ids, it won't damage the box.
The server has been hit and miss the last week or so.:)

any channel can come and go,its the nature of way things go now for any box on cable so you will not go mad when it happens again.

Nicee :)

Hi can you tell me what i need to update it what wire i need and can u send me software

You need to read all 3 tutorials at the top of the page
called " Stickies " the firmware is in the down load section
on this site.

then you need to have a go at loading it, if you get stuck
post a new thread in this section and give as much info on the problem you can
people will then try to help :)

And most importantly make sure you have the right lead.. lincast nick nacks.. 2 squid.. Take it from me i know all about the lead..! Bees, cactikid and jodav.. stop laughing..!
