Humax hdr1000s (CCCAM, N/C Line, etc)

Hi all

My dad has a humax hdr1000s free sat box and I'm wondering if you can flash it with openVIX or similar to allow the use of CCCAM, N/C Line, subscription?

I am guessing not but after a few other opinions.

Thanks

Chris

you were already told this on another forum, did you think they were lying to you or something. .?

No mate not at all. The other forum doesn't like talk of cccam, etc so just wondered if there was an alternative way by asking on a forum that is OK about talking about if that makes sense?!?

Looking at prices I'll probably get my dad an xtrend et9500 they look good value and can't see one cheaper

It was a perfectly legitimate reply, not that it has any thing to do with you. He asked on the other forum and was told that E2 was not compatible with this receiver. I simply wanted to know if he expected a different answer on a different forum ?, just because this forum supports illegal cardshare is neither here nor there, and for your information WoS has nothing to do with me. I resigned my position from both that forum and ViX.

Sorry this is probably my lack of knowledge of all things satellite, I am a newbie and still learning, I didn't realise everything had to be enigma2 to achieve my end goal. I don't mean to offend or start anything

You can get a zgemma for less money than an xtrend 9500
I have both boxes and rate the zgemma highly, only snag is they are not officially supported by vix but it doesnt stop you using vix as it is an e2 box

Hi scoob

I did look at the Zgemma but I noticed you couldn't install a hard drive mind u could use a USB one also did I read you can't update online so it's a manual update? Is that because it's not supported? What does that actually mean if you can't update online? It needs to be simple and require little maintenance for my dad to use lol.. I do like the idea of saving £50 ish depending on the cost of a USB hdd case... I'll have to look at the options.

just get a hitachi 1 off fle bay for around £25 for a 250/320 GB ,i knows its an external hard drive but works great

hi mate

Not an internal hard drive but you can connect a usb stick or extternal hard drive
you cannot update directly from the box as the update will not recognise your machine... it could update and assume the box is something its not or worse brick the unit. However its easy to turn auto updates off and so all you need is a stable build.
some really nice guys on here have uploaded there backup for others to use (they installed a patched version of vix on there own unit and set everything up then took a backup image).

zgemmas offer the best bang for your buck and a backup image can used so very little setting up will be required plus auto updates will be turned of as default.

PM me if you like and I can point you in the rite directions

scoob
