TK LADY VETERAN
I got to meet Dan whiston on Saturday woohoo!!!! such a lovely fella

AND i did some skating with him.
As some of you may know i do a ne sport called OFF Ice Skating. Its the same pirinciple as Ice Skating BUT with no ice, which means it can be done on almost any surface.

NO before you all say its the same as roller blading its NOT! the wheels are schamfered and the chassis is done like a rocker so only 2 wheels are on the ground at times. You can do spins jumps etc on them.

There is an arts college not to far from me and they have just opened the 1st Off Ice Skating school, which is where Dan opened it on Saturday and i went along, with some of the other students that are learning this new sport.

Not only did we get a chance to meet him and talk to him AAND have our photos done, we also got to have a lesson with him and skate with him. He watched us skating individually and taught us a few things.

How many people can say they skated with Dan Whiston - twice champion of Dancing on Ice. :):):) I CAN!!!
It was such a fun day. He is a big part of the Off ice skating and knows the to ladies that invented them ( as do i) very well, so we will e seeing a lot more of him and other Ice Skating celebs over the coming year.

There will be photos of him on the HJAskateworld.com website and on their facebook page if you want to check them out. or check out the Off-Iceskating.com website or facebook for details. They are also on youtube here is a twit vid

An exciting new form of ice skating – without the ice – was launched at a performing arts academy to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

Off-Ice Skating, which allows skaters to enjoy the excitement of the winter sport without a rink, is now available at HJA Performing Arts Academy in Beckenham.

Dan Whiston, twice winner of ITV’s Dancing On Ice, made a special appearance at the school’s HJA Skateworld launch on Saturday (May 26).

The dry version of the Olympic sport works like normal ice skating - you can do all the smooth moves usually reserved for on-ice skating.

And with the long summer holidays of sport upon us this is a new craze guaranteed to keep the kids occupied and active over the school break.

Off-Ice Skating will be delivered by a team of qualified coaches and ex-Olympian ice skater Neil Cushley.

The first Off-Ice figure skating classes will form part of HJA Performing Arts Academy curriculum as a new form of dance and movement.
