Kodi 17 and android kitkat 4.4.4 and lower

Anyone running a android box with version 4.4.4 or lower might want to disable the play store from auto updating apps.
Kodi 17 has been released properly now but will not work on any android system running less that 5.0 lollipop.
I saw a few people reporting on Facebook last night that their box auto updated kodi and that it no longer worked as their box was running kitkat 4.4.4 or lower.
Kinda stupid that play store allows auto updating of apps that will then not work.
It is possible to fix it if your box has been auto updated by uninstalling kodi 17 then side loading the kodi 16.1 apk onto the box but how you do this can vary from box to box

Fireboxes and fire sticks are unaffected by this as kodi has been side loaded to begin with
 
I use Aptoide as my App Store on the Android Box..

I see the developer for Exodus has pulled the plug on the project too...
 
Lambda has quit updating exodus but a couple of other developers from the TV addons team will be taking it over so all is not lost.

My Sony TV decided to update itself to kodi 17.
From all the stuff I have been monitoring on Facebook about issues with it I removed it and installed spmc instead which is made for android and runs faster too

I use specto from time to time but prefer exodus and 123 movies
It works pretty well but then seeing as it was built using the genesis source it should lol

If it updated to 17.0 I used SPMC to go back that worked for me.
