Plusnet & iptv

hi everyone I’ve just changed to Plusnet unlimited fibre extra hoping to stop the buffering I had with iptv with sky broadband unlimited but it’s just as bad if not worse so was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem with plus net and managed to find a solution?

I have Plusnet fibre and have freezing and buffering issues with two subs from different providers on my zgemma h2s connected by homeplugs whereas the same subscriptions run perfectly well on a firestick and vlc player on the laptop which are connected wirelessly.

As mbull says, a few more details about your situation are needed.

Make sure plusnet safeguard is off by logging into your plusnet account. And if using a plusnet router take it outside and set fire to it, then replace with something fit for purpose. Is it only iptv having problems or do you suffer from internet dropping out and flashing orange lights on router every now and again.

homeplugs

Make sure these are not connected via an extension plug and this sounds like the issue maybe is connected to this, try this with a cable direct into the Router to BOX

Thanks for replies I’m using an amazon fire tv box with an Ethernet cable direct into the router. Yes I did have the lights flashing on and off and speed went down to 8meg from 60+ rang plus net and they sent a new router out as that’s what they reckoned the problem was so set it up today but still have buffering. Only been with them since the 30th of sept not staying with them if it’s going to be this rubbish

The homeplug's straight from it's own socket, haven't got round to trying a ethernet cable direct yet - annoyingly it worked fine up until a month or so back so I'm thinking maybe an issue with ipab so reflashed and tried both subs separately and still not good.

My wifi with Plusnet was abysmal when I first got it but they recommended changing some settings and it settled down after that.

Can you get out of the contract without fees early since it's so soon into your contract?

I switched to Plusnet from BT as had nothing but issues with BT. I had teething issues and replaced the supplied router with my own which improved things dramatically. Plusnet customer support seems to be understaffed (long queues to answer) but are far more helpful (in my experience at least) than their BT counterparts even talking me through optimising my non isp modem and router setup to get the best out of it.

I should be able to but not sure as I was put on the wrong package when I went with them on the the 18th sept then it took until the 30th to be swapped to the correct package so not sure if my contract starts from the 18th or the 30th anyone know ?

Do you have any extensions from your main phone socket? if so.take the front plate off and plug your router/filter straight in there.if it is still slow there is and external broadband fault
