Feed Discussion Satellite Feeds FTA & Biss Key Discussion Thread.

Quick question guys, would an 80cm dish be much use for feeds or does it ideally need to be 1m plus?
It all depends where you are in the country and what feeds you are hoping to catch. For example to boxing feed on 16e today i tried to scan in with my 1m dish. I am in northern england and it did not scan in. My 1.3m scanned it in.. Lots of feeds from 7e are really weak but with 1m and in the south on england you might be ok but not further north.

Too late for tonight but interested in trying biss keys, only on 28.e , so appreciate opportunity's maybe limited.

I'm Viark sat 4k, I can enter the Biss key however the part I'm not getting is how then to view the channel, do i need to enter the frequency separately and then do a TP scan via the installation menu ?

Yes you need to do manual TP Scan add TP and Scan the feed there is quite often feeds on 28E in BISS at weekends ,
No need manually enter any BISS Keys EVER .... Viark sat 4k will Auto Roll Key and add the key to your box menu thus giving you Picture unless Feed is 4:2:2 which often can be the case if so then your outta luck .
its a massive shame that devs they never or could not add a blind scan range feature on the Viark sat 4k which would again make it a lot easier and a lot better box all round ,
i guess since it is not capable of 4:2:2 Feeds they just could not be bothered bit of a big Fail IMHO as this box is pretty good at locking feeds and AU BISS Keys .

You should really have scanned/tuned in to the channel first as the biss key may auto update. 95% of the time it does.

Thanks, i did try and follow he above homebred got stuck at the part below as there wasn't a frequency / symbol rate option at the bottom of the Biss entry page.

next enter the Frequency & Symbol Rate at the bottom - eg: 12735 7200, (There's no way to enter the H or V Polarity but it won't matter), then scroll down again to "OK" & press OK on the remote, check that the Keys & Frequency are correct & exit out, change to another channel and then back again.

You dont need to add V or H when entering a key only when scanning the channel in.
