Interesting mate. I guess you can keep your regular AppleId login for ICloud etc and just use this Turkish login for Apple Music/AppStore? I think Apple Music is determined by whatever account is logged into AppStore.
Issue with using this on iPhone is that your phone must be using the Turkish apple ID ...pain if u have to change back and forth for apps etc ..I don't think it's possible to retain the music when change ID back to eg UK.

For Android you don't have same Apple music is a stand alone app so you can use it with no issues..using mine now works great.

You’ve always been able to login to a different AppleId to the AppStore. Your ICloud/IMessage etc can always be separate.

What happens if you have Apple Music setup and you log out of the AppStore and login to a UK one and then log back into the Turkish one? I’m not talking about having a AppleId in Turkish and then changing it to UK. But a totally separate Turkish ID that doesn’t change just for music mate. Surely it’s just a matter of switching between the 2 that way?

That should work..

If let's say you have a UK ID and Turkish ..then you login to Turkish to use the apple music that's fine..

Just didn't know how much of hassle for you Apple users that would be ...lol

But will work ...no issues with that pal 👍

Also worth a try to check it out forgot to mention they give you a month free to 🤣

That’s pretty decent then to be fair. 0.94p a month for Apple Music. Just the faf of switching stores now and again. Tbf most of our apps are probably Turkish/Indian/Indonesian/Azerbaijan now anyway least used store is UK by far 😂😂

I looked at iCloud storage which is also a lot cheaper in Turkey also, but that one I think will be tricky to get working.

My thinking was that I would get it with a Turkish appleId and then share with my main one. However, they may have a region restriction, but in any case my Revolut card doesn’t work in the Turkish apple store.

Anyone else tried this?

All family shares on apple are region locked...so shares can be done with others in same region..in this case other ID also needs to be Turkish.

I think we should just be given the Turkish nationality and be done with it 🤣🤣

How abt this other option ..

VPNs Turkey😭

OK same as before ...but using Google pay windscribe for example is £20 for year ...all other VPNs are cheaper on comparison to UK ..

However some give you an error when buying but windscribe works as someone has purchased it others you can try ..

That’s handy too. I always wondered about getting VPNs cheaper and thought to just load a VPN to a region and then check prices online.

Never thought of doing it the Google Play/Pay way to get prices cheaper! 👍👍

Haha. There is something poetic about using a technique enabled by a VPN to save on the VPN itself.

I’ll definitely keep this in mind for when mine renews in 9 months 😂

I am currently paying a discounted rate, which means I wouldn’t qualify for the ControlD discount. I wonder if the Turkey rate counts as full price and then you could get the ControlD discount on top…

Don't see why it wouldn't as discounts available for anyone subscribe to the pro version...

BUT why pay for controld ..when you can just use the 30 day trial and repeat..like I do 😂

I am keeping my eyes peeled for when HBO Max launches in Turkey later this year. I suspect that will allow me to save a bit there too even though I’m on the Mexico rate now (I know there are cheaper ones already)

True - but I don’t actually mind paying for stuff I really love…

Also, I think the discount is limited to people who pay “full price” for the pro version, but haven’t confirmed this myself as I was a ControlD customer before I was a Windscribe one and they wouldn’t give it to me 😞

It’s 149 MXN which is £6. Argentina and Brazil are both cheaper - probably £4-5

With the pricing of eg Disney Plus in Turkey I suspect HBO Max will go in at £3-4, so waiting for that launch rather than changing twice

Hopefully they offer the lifetime 50% off like they did in the Netherlands.

Can you access other regions with it, and is it with or without ads?

Yes, would be great if they did, but it’s already going to be quite cheap, so let’s see 🤞🏻

Yup it can be used across all regions and has no ads in the US (only place with an ad supported model)

Setanta Sports - Android TV - solved?
After banging my head against a brick wall for the last few hours and reading 30-odd pages on this forum (I learnt a lot!), i've worked out how to get the Setanta Sports' Android TV app to work on my Android TV Nvidia box (I presume it applies to the firestick, too?) - which I wanted to share as I don't think it's been solved yet. Basically, the app *won't* work if you've got a VPN running - if you do, it will look like it's broken (at least, not the main ones I use - ExpressVPN etc): but it will work fine if you only use ControlD (and probably other DNS providers).

So, to recap:

- Download Setanta Andoid TV APK and follow these instructions to install (thanks, dafsdgsgsg - 14 May 2022) - Services Cheaper With VPN’s - but don't use a VPN when you run it as they're (mainly?) blocked and you'll get error messages / it'll crash if you do, just use ControlD.

- And a reminder before you install, this is how you sign up for a subscription (thanks, TheSource - 13 May 2022) - Services Cheaper With VPN’s Incidentally, you can put any mobile number on the sign-up form, as they don't text you and you can change the number a few mins later in your account settings. It cost ~£28 for a year (a discount code was mentioned to save 20% but I couldn't get that to work), and I paid with a UK Visa card (mastercard wouldn't work).

Hope this works for others who were having problems - I can go to bed feeling accomplished..!
