Skybox f5s and soundbar

Hi everyone,

I just purchased a Sony x85c with a Phillips soundbar both with arc compatibility. Digital freeview works fine with soundbar. It is only when I plug the hdmi of the skybox into the TV, that the soundbar stops working and sounds come through the TV speakers.

Do I have to change some settings on the skybox?

i use my soundbar via a spdif output on box to input on soundbar,but as you bought cheap there is none on that box.
you could try the audio button and change settings to see if sound comes back.

I've tried messaging about with the audio settings so far. It's on lpcm.

Yeah you are right sky box has no optical cable so can't connect it that way.

I'd appreciate any ideas

Try connecting everything while powered off sometimes arc gets a bit twitchy if you're connecting/disconnecting things while powered on

If I connected an optical cable to the tv to the soundbar, would that work?

Should do but you would need to zero the volume on your tv

I used an optical cable.

I still have no idea why the HDMI arc is not working the Skybox.
