Hi guys..sky sports.1 & 2 plus sky sports news all down...cannot find this on the forum except someone as mentioned for other uses missing other sky channels to try tweaking the dish...do you think this will sort out my problem? Thanks to all if any ..who answers.
 
With all the storms recently a lot of dishes need tweaking so its worth checking, have you checked with your line provider to make sure they don't have a issue with SS1 and 2 or get a test line from another provider to see if the channels are still down
 
menu > factory reset> ok on yes (IMPORTANT NOW PRESS BLUE) reload Cwaites list and see how you go
 
I have Cwaites list and there are alternatives for SS1 SS2 and SSNews. For example on channels 1261, 1262 and 1263.

If you read through the back posts on here regarding channels problems and causing bricked boxes then 90% were caused by the AJSAT list.
As members we advise downloads from this forum as they are proven to be reliable, hence the CWAITES list posted by cdub74 and maintained for all channel updates.
 
interesting, I only suggested AJSats as I follow The Reapers Dummies Guide to Openbox and he states in there to use AJSats Channel list so figured if the reaper suggests it then its a safe bet as an alternative to CWAITES

That guide was written quite a while ago and I suspect Reaper maybe has never altered it !
He also advocates only using lists from this site wherever possible or manufacturers downloads only.
You will also find threads where he states avoid AJSAT list.
Maybe they were ok a year or two ago but seemed to have been a big source of problems in the past year based on posts here from people.
 
I need to update the dummies guide but yes I did make posts about not using AJSat list on the V8s and move to CWaites to avoid bricking the box.
Since the advent of the network server allowing upgrades over the air then there is no longer the need to use usb keys which also brick the boxes if used unwisely.
My guide is not a bible, just a basic guide which has been used many times on this forum and many others, but, don't follow it blindly--do your research and use the guide in conjunction.
Quoting "The Reaper says" gives me godlike status which I hate and reject---I had to learn about these boxes just like everyone else and yes I've become an authority on them but only to help others so please read, research, request help but use a little brainpower before assuming it's got to be correct because "The Reaper says".
