V5s box, red power light but no display

Hi,
I'm after a bit of help.. I've had my v5s box 14 months and never missed a beat.. It worked fine last night, I fell asleep with it still switched on and when the tv went onto standby the box froze on the channel it had been on... This happens regular and is no big issue. I reboot it and it fires up no worries.. However this morning when I turned it off and back on its showing the power light but nothing else on the display screen.
Have I corrupted the lcd or is it more than that??
I read anothe topic where someone opened up the box unplugged the lcd and then back in and it worked?

I'm quite happy to buy a new box as I know they can be picked up quite cheap now if it is broken... But I still have 10 months on my gift, is it easy enough to swap my gift onto a new box if need be?

Just to add to this I've just picked up a RS232 Null Modem Cable.

from what I can tell on other topics it sounds bricked.
 
The red light means your box is in standby mode only and may revive if a]try a different psu b]if a doesn't work then you must try a reflash with the null modem cable---all instructions are in the forum.Taking box apart will not solve the problem.
