V8s box won't change channel !!!

Hi all, I am new to this so go easy on me.
I got my v8s box last week and everything was fine for the first 3 days. On Friday I went to switch on the box by remote control and nothing even though the red light on the remote was flashing. I unplugged the box and it booted back up to the last channel I was on but still no joy with the remote. I ordered a replacement remote which came today but that doesn't work either. I'm guessing there's a fault with the box ? Any help would be much appreciated.

check and see if any the buttons are lodged in, long shot but maybe one of the kids have sat on it and the buttons jammed

I tried it but to no avail. It doesn't seem to be a very common problem as I can't find anything of note to help me online.

couple of things to try,

1. move the box to a different location incase of interference from other electrical\IR boxes, routers etc.
2. try unplugging all the cables from the box (except power) let it boot up and see if the remote works (I.e you can see channel numbers change on front display) then plug hdmi\network\sat cable one at a time to see if one of them is causing a short on the box

Had this on a V5s.
Only worked via the remote at a distance of less than three inches and patient button pushing !
Tried firmware reflash and made no difference !
Took front of box off and it then worked within two feet !
Dodgy sensor and nothing could be done but it's ok as a spare !

It sounds to me like a dodgy sensor on my box too. Just wish I could get it to work from 3 inches haha

If you take front of box of your warranty is invalid tho so think what is best to do try fiddle with the inside or send it back I would probably try fiddle with it because am inpatient and love all that stuff but if you can't fix it your stuck with it

Yeah I was about to tale the front off but saw the sticker warning about warranty and bottled it. I'll see what the seller has to say 1st before I take it off.

Haha just thought would tell you incase m8 it shouldn't be sensor out of place anyway as it worked at first weird one just send it back for replacement I have one in bedroom okay box to learn with m8 does what you need once setup as you want it just leave it you could try rs232 null cable (section explaining everything on forum) but am not sure if it will work as it isn't actually bricked m8
