Viark VIARK TYPE BOXES

I must say I half agree with you, I think they were released a little too untested, but I suppose those investors had to try recoup their money.
On the other hand, if you remember the initial days of zgemmas, this place was buzzing with people who had problems, and they were constantly being bad mouthed, turns out it was people, not the equipment.

As pointed out several times already, it only makes sense to get a Viark if you have a multi sat or motorised system set up.
 
I agree with fez on this, these boxes are not really that expensive with 3 years multisat thrown in its not a bad price at all. I've found out to reboot the box before watching a match and there are very few glitches at all. Picture quality is better than IPTV or at least in my opinion.
 
I was gonna order one last week, because I do have Eurosat, but then the LNB arm broke on the dish, so I am just gonna replace and re align the dish, but I also seen all the ongoing posts about all the problems all the Viark box users were having, so I thought better to leave it for a while, but yes, one of the reasons that I was looking at them was because of the 3 years subs.

Go for the android version graham and you can install the apk apps and use that instead of E2iplayer.Add a HDD and you can download stuff to which is limited on the firestick
 
One word of warning on the Android DRS2 it can be very temperamental with usuals motors which was one on the reasons i went with the Sat 4K.

Some got around the problem with a low amperage using LNB others didnt. But then some have no motor issues with it.

These server receivers are not new, I've been using them on other sats for about 4 years now with little or no problems.
The server on an Starsat I have dates from 2014. Viark started using this firmware in 2017.
It's only 28e HD channels that are new, (hacked just 6 months ago), can't beleive they've even lasted that long.
 
ok not been on here for a while, but have both the starsat sr t13 and the viark drs2, both have there problems, good and bad,
but the drs2 is very temperamental, done 2 re flash because of freezes when i have done a scan (or first time when i updated from the menu) also firmwares are lacking, very lacking, but other boxes have regular updates, the epg on the drs2 is crap (needs epg pro)
also when you record a 28.2e hd channel there is no sound with the built in player, you need to use mxplayer and audio decoder, then it works.
Now channel list, i have tried every thing to get a e2 channel list from my box to the viark drs2 with various degrees of success, problem is the viarks basically starts the channel list from number 1 and up .
But if you want to try and get a channel list you can use the clarktech editor to get the latest channel lists from the web, again not with out its problems and you then need to edit it in a db editor as it fooks your screen colours up. (pain in the backside)
Now on the starsat t13, closed source firmware so you cant add any programs, but does have epg pro and even tells you the football on bein sports, as for bein sports this opens Badra without a sat using dvb2iptv, and a few others as well, again channel lists are crap and basically its do it all you self on the box.( also firmware updates are frequent)
The attacked photos is from clarktech studio and DB browser , but to be honest, dont bother

Your trying to do things with the boxes they were not designed for. Your an enigma 2 user that is clear enough but anyone buying one of these must expect a basic ish box

yep they are, never would i use it as a main box, reminds me of the eurovox days
 
Viark processor seems to lag and stutter if we constantly change channel. There is at least 2 seconds delay in pressing button and channel list appearing. This was not the case when I only had a fix dish but I included a motorized dish and channel list increased and Viark struggle at times with high number of channels.

Basically we are buying these boxes as the server are only available on them. If we could use these servers on an E2 box then that would be the best.
 
It's like the dating game, do you want the more attractive enigma2 box, or the viark that has more content, albeit a bit temperamental.
 
Waiting for Amazon.es to deliver my replacement Viark LIL got as far as updating the box then the remote stopped working.
