Viark VIARK TYPE BOXES

Yeh I don't think it has 512mb flash either lol.

2x 256mb ram chips was prob cheaper than 1x 512mb when it went into production.
The 256mb x 2 is supposed to be flash not ram if you believe the specs posted.

The 4k would not need 256mb x 2 for flash.
Wow I don't come on for a couple of hours and the thread goes mad 🤣
@cokeaddict is correct with the Gtmedia UHD though it does have 4 gig of ram 👍

Where's some of the better places to buy a GTMedia V8 UHD or another Viark Sat 4K these days please? I'm toying with the idea of getting one as a bedroom box.

AliExpress is by far the cheapest for the GTmedia, the UK warehouse had stock last week as well they said.

I set the folks up with them this weekend, one on a static dish and one on a motor and even though they get more channels they hate the usability so far. I think they're easy and the benefits outweigh the cons but certainly a factor to think about for any technophobes.

All mine are HW 1.0.1, one of the remotes has a narrower IR window than the other two though. Starsat with the WiFi remote is the best I've used on this type of box, shame they don't all use it.

The V8UHD has the code in there for the CHMax online channel stuff but so far any variant of the serial I've tried on the MM site doesn't recognise the serial of these.

Hopefully a sign of things to come.

the amazon listing for v8 uhd has free returns but almost £30 more expensive

would you describe the UK viewing experience as decent enough i.e. how frequent are the dropouts etc?
Forever server has been up and down on UK lately.

I'l say what i usually say regarding any make of Forever box. I would not advice buying one for just 28 east that could go tomorrow, i do highly recommend them though if you have a motorised dish. 👍

Common sense approach use the box to its full potential why buy a multisat box if you do not have the correct feeds for it.
