i think for the GT Media you need to purchase SP1. The Viark Sat 4k you can upgrade but lose 12 months service. Someone with more knowledge will be able to confirm shortly

Yeh i don't think they come with access to the server as the viarks do, you will need to purchase sp1.
No you need a Mars Europe gift
You just download the latest mars firmware and upgrade by USB . Then send your box I'd to whomever is providing your line, chances are the person you brought the box off on Amazon,ebay,Alibaba,AliExpress will contact you asking if you want a mars trial anyways.

Create a file and load by usb would be easier i should think.
Ah I didn't realise that - it's whichever the GX boxes are in that case. In fact that's the Starsat T13 the father in law has somewhere, will have to get it back for a nosey at some point then 👍

I asked the guy that I bought mines from and he recommended a couple of sellers, only thing is it can take them awhile to get back to you, must be the time difference, i found it a lot more difficult to set up than an E2 box, and got a lot of help from a TK Veteran, unsure if I am allowed to name him or if he indeed would want me to, incase the PMS start flooding in to him, quite a decent box for the money, I paid £70 for mine, son in law paid £63 for his, still to do his yet, at least now I am a lot more aware of how to do it, do a bit more tinkering about with my own first.
yeh same with me my guys must be on the other side of the world, ultimately the server will be the same and anyone selling the line/access will be a reseller same as you first impression compared to e2 box was "yuck" and alot more clunky and difficult compared to openatv. Once you get to the stage you have it clearing what its mean to be clearing it will be a case of fidding with settings, sorting favs, channel list to suit your viewing habits.
I'm getting better with navigation but annoying thing for me was audio narration popping up on certain channels. Took me ages to get used to the fact the back button wasnt in the place im normally used to as well. For the money if the server lasts a good year its worth it, worse case UK goes down and the others still clear its still worth it IMO for 3pm KO and PPV alone.

what im saying is even if the UK goes down tomorrow, its still worth it for the sub and the box given what it opens on 13.0e and 19.2e.
