Biggest drawback on the v8 uhds for me are a few channels have subtitles on, then when you turn them off and move to another channel and then go back, the sub titles are on again, a few channels have audio description too, still trying to figure that one out.

I have disabled subtitles in the menu (I think you can still enable them manually per channel if you need them)

The audio description once switched to dolby on that channel should keep the setting.

The remote for the gt combo is bluetooth and is so much better than that of the 4k which is a PITA
to use for me,short range and very direct pointing required.When the batteries run low
on the combos remote,it can do weird things with the operation of the box though.Aesthetically,the
combo is a much nicer doorstop than the v8uhd,which is probably the most ugly sat box ever.

Anybody tried recording on the V8 UHD out of curiosity ? Wondering if it will record from sleep or will the box need to be awake and on the channel set for recording to work. Will probably try it out on this weekends UFC.

Random but flashed box, got bbc one working. Tried to load cam but I don’t see the cs protocol option in network, any ideas please? Flashed with latest firmware. V8 box

go to network, press 6666 then the cs protocol menu will appear

Are the SD channels for sly not meant to work? Only HD right now. Not that I’m complaining!

No very few SD channels work

Server deffo not down try to remove and readd the server after midnight to see if it picks up the new trial

It is working now. Box is now picking second trial date and working after change of date. Did not like two trials at same time.

So advice for others, don't take two trials at same time and let the first runs out first.
