That is the way i do it with standard firmware no need to rename it unless your box is not booting and need to recover it.One more question, do I update by Rename the software to "update.bin" and copy to USB update turning box off
or
Can I go through Menu USB?
Not eventually, if you ignore the updates eventually they will update the server and you will be connected to the old sever with nothing clearing. Is it a big deal if i dont update my box. My server will still work on it right? Channels will still clear fine i assume?
You only have to read back a little to see other users having issues not being on the latest update to know that your channels will cease to clear if you stick to an old fwIs it a big deal if i dont update my box. My server will still work on it right? Channels will still clear fine i assume?

I dont really see why you would want to hold off updating.Apologies. What I meant to say is it absolutely crucial to update as soon as the new firmware comes out?
How many versions down do you have to be to start having issues clearing channels?
You can delete 19.2 in channel edit if you dont want it.All good thank you, updated through system software update, forgot to back up channel list so had to start again.
Reason it wasn't upto date as it is in conservatory only used April - October,
What I don't like is that it seems to have 19.2E Sat and I have to add 28.2E
Never mind other than that please with Box
Thanks for all advise
In my experience, it was when I hadn't checked this thread or the software section on the box for a while then noticed some channels not working. It was about a month or two before I realised but there shouldn't normally be any reason to put it off besides ignorance or laziness etc.Apologies.
