VPN help needed on my Zgemma H2S

Im thinking of installing a VPN on my +net fibre service as they seem to be throttling me badly at peak times but are denying all knowledge of it ;(

Can anyone help me or give me any advice please?

Im running the latest wooshbuild, but im not sure if you can even run a vpn on a Zgemma H2S box or if the vpn will need to be installed on my router?

I have a +net fibre router if that helps?

Thanks in advance

Its most likely that using a VPN will also cause a slight slowness in connectivity when watching programs...

U can run a VPn on the Zgemma H2S. I use my IPVanish detials along with the OpenVPN client and working perfectly fine.

As far as the router goes, you can also use a VPN on it, but router compatibility and configuration is going to be the key

I purchased a vpn router on fleabay netgear one fast speed flashed with dwrt firmware.refurbished £70 guy set it up just plug in to existing router.i gone with pia vpn £32 a year plug all devices into it.my speed only dropped from 14 to 12 mpbs.

Can you just add a VPN onto the zgemma h2s, without buying a new router? I'm using a BT Smart Hub 6, don't really want to be buying a new router, as I don't know where to start with setting it up, plus the cost. I only want the VPN on the H2s, I'm not fussed about having it on anything else.

IPVanish also seems to be the one that people recommend, so does anyone have an easy to follow guide on how to add it to the H2S? Thanks.

Yes you can run it using an openvpn plugin on zgemma.

It takes a bit of setting up though

Is the best guide out there.

My speed hasn't dipped noticeably running VPN on my box.
Brill need to try this too...I want to just trial a VPN to see if it makes a difference and not get a big drop in speed??? VPN in this tutorial is expensive will it work with any please? Any idea who i can use and ones i have been recommended you have to sign up DD

It will work with any vpn that's just a guide how to install it follow those instructions with which ever vpn your going to use and shouldn't go wrong

Almost all vpns support openvpn.

I use protonvpn which is one of the more expensive vpn providers buts also one of the fastest and most secure. I'm a bit of a fanboy of theirs since the released their email and I like the ethos of the company which adds value.

But there are other more cost effective providers who are fast and secure. PIA and ipvanish have been recommended a lot on the forums.

Forgive me for sounding thick but with a vpn what country should I connect to? Does connecting to a UK server defeat the object of a vpn? I'm looking at a libertyshield von router for £25 and then £49 a year for vpn and you can do next to 7 countries with them, just wondering which is best?

UK, ,USA, Canada Ireland, Germany, Spain, France.

UK server should be fine.

If you use plugins you can still access iPlayer and channel 4 catch up etc. But a foreign server will allow you to access eg primewire links on the IPTV plugins

Note that the uks privacy laws are shoddy ompared to other modern democracies so it might not be as private as running through a county like Germany or switzland. But for general use UK server should be good

Follow this guide:

https://www.tech2guides.co.uk/how-to-setup-vpn-on-enigma2-openatv/

If you are getting the 'feeds are down for maintenance' when opening opvpn on your box:

open putty and connect to your box with the ssh box ticked

enter the following commands:

opkg list | grep vpn

then...

opkg install openvpn

then...

update-rc.d openvpn defaults

None of this seems to relate to vultr account ...the interface on it means nothing to me lol...seems no related

Guide seems to only work for ipvanish. I have been looking at other VPN providers but cannot find any guides for them. Might just have to go with them.

any iptv provider that allows you to download a .ovpn file will work with the linked guide
