My experience with Proton is the same as most. As long as you're not using the free tier, it's pretty good. I personally prefer Surfshark, but as someone else mentioned, it really is mostly user preference. I look for basic features like split tunneling and a good amount of locations. After that.... for the most part, they really are the same.
