Wooshbuild Support Thread

This have been said about more then once today.

Reflash WB from within WB Config. If you don't have any channels from a fresh re-flash something is wrong elsewhere. Don't restore any settings, sort it out before that.

ive tried the re-flash and now it says not enough free space on /hdd!! you need at least 300mb free space. sorry for bugging you guys but ive a lot to listen to if i dont get this up and runing lol

Any ideas what the plugin is called, can't find it. Tried his backup which I really like but having issues with HDD and want to see if using a different build will sort it
I don't know to be honest, have a look in the H2S section or download section for it.

OK, shutdown your box, remove the USBs from the box and turn the box back on. Once it has fully booted, put your USB back in the rear of the box.

Now go back into WB Config and select re-flash WooshBuild. If you backed up your settings from v5, DON'T backup settings again as it will create another backup. I have no idea if you have a settings backup or if you have restored it.

Hi, Reflashed my box earlier and i also had the same problem adding the line using the USB Cam Importer - so i Used Filezilla and added it to the usr - keys folder - working via that
Sorry folks but for me to be able to fix something I need to know what problems you had. I don't sit and go back through posts to see what "the same problem" refers to.

If you could all help me a bit please with giving clear details of what didn't work, what you saw, what you think you should see that would be great.

I must admit I am surprised at the number of people who are re-adding their line and, presume, not restoring their settings. Restoring settings brings your line back too.
Thanks

is it safe to put usb into a powered on box,i would not chance it?

if box had issues would a clean start be better than settings restore?

I have to say @wooshman, besides your coding skills and knowledge regarding your builds, your absolute patience has to be admired. How you keep your "tone" so amiable in your replies to constant repetitive questions is beyond me. I know I couldn't do it, even though I have helped posters with problems that have been well documented before, I know I couldn't do it to the same extent that you do.

PEOPLE PLEASE READ THE FAQ BEFORE ASKING A QUESTION !!

USB by design is hot swappable - and again, now 18 months and still never had an issue Cacti with these boxes, USB powered hard drives or hot swapping a USB drive. Whats more, since the introduction of USB in 1996 and working for ICL and then Fujitusu, I have always plugged USB devices in to computers while they are on as that is what they are designed to do. Can you imagine having to turn a piece of hardware off every time you wanted to replace one USB device in a chain of 127 of them? Which if you didn't know was the maximum number of USB devices that can be connected at any one time.

Hot swapping and hot plugging consist in replacing or adding components without stopping or shutting down the system.[1] More specifically, hot swapping describes replacing components without interruption to the system, while hot plugging describes the addition of components that would expand the system without significant interruption to the operation of the system.[2] Once the appropriate software is installed on the computer, a user can plug and unplug the component without rebooting. A well-known example of this functionality is the Universal Serial Bus (USB) that allows users to add or remove peripheral components such as a mouse, keyboard, or printer.

Thank you.

Sometimes I think my tone could come across as a bit arsey, but sometimes I am or sometimes bemused by a question being asked right under the answer they need. On a whole though we all start somewhere and I have to try and remember that..... sometime it is very hard I won't deny

ABSOLUTELY. We all had to start somewhere, but if someone has the wherewithal to start a thread or pose a question, then is it not reasonable to assume that the same person has the wherewithall to do a simple search and more than likely find the answer to the very same question?

Looking to be "Spoon Fed" springs to mind.

I am a member of many forums and I have to say that techkings is the most tolerent of them all, regarding posts that have been answered ad nausea. Regardless of a FAQ.

Hi Guys,

I have read through posts from the past day or so where people have no line/ channels, some are saying they have certain ones and others saying they have none at all and i cant see their problem resolved. I have v5 still and the screen was blank since yesterday. IPTV is working ok. I tried to do an online update to v6 as a little box popped up in the corner saying it was available. it downloaded and said it was updated, and i rebooted. box is still the same. ive tried doing a flash with the v6 but when I plug the usb into the back, nothing is happening. I have since tried to restore settings but telling me no back up found. the free to air channels aren't even working and when I go into favorites list, there are a few folders there such as woosh tv, free to air tv, HD etc... the channels on woosh tv work but theres only about five...

Would this all indicate that the line is just gone and no matter how many times i try to update/ flash it wont help? I text my provider yesterday and no reply...

thanks for your time!

Hey...i would say if the free to air channels aren't working to then it's more than just a line. when you said you tried to do the v6 flash you plugged in the usb and nothing happened.if your flashing through WBconfig (over air) you should not have to do anything with your usb stick it should just stay where it is. (its only really flashing from base build that needs the usb sticks moving. maybe thats why it couldnt find a backup. What have you actually put on your usb stick to make it flash by the way Lyns?

Hi Woosh, I upgraded to V6 today with no problems, but ( isn't there always a but !! ) I have a H2S but I have a DVB tuner for my virgin line, this tuner has been working really well until I done the upgrade, all the channels work no bother but they are breaking up quite badly i never got this before the upgrade, any ideas ?

Thanks for all the hard work it makes it so easy for dummies like me.

Irene
Just a quick update on this, I restored a complete backup of the previous version of Wooshbuild and all my Virgin stations are now playing with no problem, I don't know why but it seems as if the upgrade created the problems, although as everyone knows I'm a bit stupid regarding all this techy stuff so who knows :(.

Morning

The latest WB6 is now online. This means that those who flash from now on won' get the EPG issue. It was a bitch to find but Makido found the problem.

On upgrading from SkyWB Skin from 1.005 to 1.007 a py file was removed. When software updates are run the .pyo file was replaced and couldn't be created again as we need it.

Duo2, Solo2, H2S have all be sorted out. If your EPG is not right on v6, goto WB Config and re-flash WooshBuild.

It could be down to OpenATV 6 not having the drivers for you cable device. Until it does you will have to stay with OpenAtv 5.3, which is WooshBuild 5.

It is the same sort if problem with the external Seagate and samsung hard disk drives not being detected. OpenATV sorted this though.

You would need to goto the OpenATV forum and post in there with the make and model of your cable device and see if they can sort it. OpenATV 5.3 it works, OpenATV 6 it doesn't. I am fairly certain it isn't a WoshBuild thing.

Thanks Woosh I'll do that.
