Plex & IPTV on one device possible ?

I was thinking that if you have a fairly half decent android box then surely there is nothing really that extremely technical stopping a supplier adding the whole lot onto one device be it a box or whatever, am I technically correct or is it technically impossible to do the lot on one device ?

For example, full IPTV and full Plex would be really handy on the one box, I know lots of suppliers do supply multi room, catchup tv & and now even 4K too, 'the full works' so to speak, but I haven't seen one yet openly selling IPTV and Plex on the one device, is it possible ?

I know and understand that even if it is then the price would be higher, that's fine, just a case of privately negotiating prices with the provider, it's just that it would be great to have that option if it's possible, don't you agree ?

Hopefully someone in the know will be able to answer my question :emoji_question:

Cheers guys ;)

to achieve what you want you will need a decent android box. Their are a number of options you have in regards for the iptv on android some suppliers even have their own app. My new supplier who i tested for a few months gives a free plex sub if you sign for a year. He has his own app for iptv and you can put plex on any android device.

Hm, thanks, strange how we never see them advertise a package something like "Everything Included" or something like that, must be more profitable to do things seperately I guess (maybe), they should do it though as I know me and my friends would pay the extra per year for the whole complete package all built into one, they could have that option for people such as like myself and others wanting the lot and the other deals for people who are happy with just one type of package or another and so on.

Do you know anyone that is doing what I am asking about (I am in the UK) @mike123 or anyone else know anymore about it:emoji_question:

I was wondering too if there are any 4K twin Satellite tuner boxes that would be able to handle this kind of workload alongside the IPTV running on the same box too, I mean satellite just for Freesat so that I can watch one channel and record another etc, but at the same time also have the option to flick straight onto IPTV too, I don't know if there are boxes ready to do that type of thing that are more than poweful enough with a great amount of Memory/ram and a decent quality chipset etc ?

Yes as i said i think if you sign for a year he will give you a free plex account, if he is still running the offer. i have had no problems no need for a vpn although i do use one. If you want sat as well that would be impossible

Why impossible if it's just freesat ? I know that lots of Sat boxes can run IPTV but just never heard of anyone having their freesat set up and also IPTV etc on the same box, maybe there are people and I just haven't noticed them yet on the forums, I dunno.

yes but you will not get one box that will handle it all. you get freesat in with your iptv so you would have to use that. so you can run iptv and plex on a android box. you can also run iptv on a enigma 2 box i don't think a enigma 2 boxes run plex

I currently use my enigma 2 box on a motorised satellite set up and also iptv and i do not have any issues. While i record channels on the satellite i can watch the football on iptv without any interruptions.

What make and model of box mate ? @stav8124 p.s, is it 4K ready too mate ?

I've never used plex but I have heard of people running plex through Kodi on enigma 2 boxes. I think it was dreamplex but you would have to google for info.

well if plex is similar to or works via kodi then I think I will just leave it as Kodi was always a total pain in the neck for years with me on the computer, unless it's totally different and just as simple to use as good IPTV on an Android or enigma2 box, that's different then, has anyone got any knowledge of plex or better still actually has plex and could show us a couple of screen shots of what it actually looks like when done through either a box or an app, anyone, please ?

I think your best solution would be buy a decent android box. And a sub with both a iptv account and plex account. If you buy a plex account it will work like netflix just with loads more content.

What would you guys idea of a half decent Android box be then ? Could you give me makes and model numbers please ?

p.s, I know the out and out best is the Nvidia Shield box but that price tag is too high for me even if it was second hand probably, but I meant to say that it has to be 4K ready too and also have plenty support on the internet etc. cheers.

4k Fire TV is currently £54.99 in the Amazon bank holiday sale. At least with Amazon you can just send it back if you don't like it.

do you have a 4k Fire TV? m8 what is your review?

No, I have an Nvidia Shield. Just noticed the AFTV while I was on Amazon yesterday. I have heard very good things about them though and like I say you can return stuff to Amazon without question.
