As this old thread has been brought back to life.. here is a word of warning.

you forgot to mention in your guide about setting up a password

you forgot to mention how insecure this is.

you forgot to mention this will probably cause havoc with your box and your ftp client will become corrupt and unavailable

you forgot to mention how your ip address will now be spiderable from google. Therefore might as well but a big flashing beacon on your head.

You forgot to mention how anyone can now access your box, and while you are sleeping or not viewing your box, can easily install a file explorer plugin and steel all your server line information.

you forgot to mention their are forums that just do port scans all day to find these insecure external openwebifs and then share them to the world.

And I haven't written all the above to dis anyone. Its to highlight the fact you really need to know what your doing to be able to do this securely.
