I got a new box over the Xmas and want a nice app that organises the station categories etc.

I've been using SMART IPTV and it's fine.. just doesn't look nice.

What's out there ?

Stb emu Pro imitates a mag box some providers provide there own app there's different ones to choose from

Decent Android boxes with good specs. STB EMU is Set Top Box Emulator which is an app that lets you simulate a Mag Box, which is a type of dedicated IPTV box.
Never owned a Mag box before...

So I'd install this App on the box.. set up my lines and it makes it look like a Mag box display?

IPTV Smarters is my favourite. It's well laid out and has EPG.

With stb emu mate you give a provider your mac address to your stb emu they add it to a server then give you a portal to enter on some other apps you would get a username and password to enter to say iptv smarters some providers provide m3u playlists/files but I wouldn't bother with those as easily traceable and easy for blocks to happen

100% agree, if a provider is willing to give out the m3u or url to one, they will not be around long.

That's just silly, it's called choice. Some people may want to use different applications than Stbemu, so need the m3u or url.

You also realise you can still get said details from the portal address just by changing http://url:port/c to http://url:port/get.php?username etc etc so your argument about them not being around long is void.

There is other apps then stb that you use username and password but not every provider or end user will want to use m3u files

My provider uses m3u

Well my guy's been going strong for 3 years with m3u URL so I'd say you're right.

Exactly Baz, I agree I use various different applications on different devices, so with username and password, some with m3u, personally dislike Stbemu so tend not to use it myself.

The argument saying if a provider hands out an m3u or url they won't be around long is a silly statement to make.

If you are a mag user and have just been given the portal you are unable to get the m3u with them creds as you will not have a username or a password as they are not created. Yes if you change the portal url as you have said to the format mentioned and you also have a username and password Yes you can get a m3u that being said, this just shows a lack of security awearness by having the mag portal on the same url as the url for pulling back and m3u etc. You can set it up so you have different urls for: Mag, E2 and m3u etc. This would stop the leakage of the m3u as this is what contains all the info that is needed to enable the ISPs to block the streams. Moving on, if you are happy to issuing m3u files/urls knowing that all it takes is for that one person to let it get into the hands of the ISP, that my friend show that you will not be around for long as you will be for ever changing url etc. By you i mean the current setup that your provider is using, i dont mean that your provider will just up and leave.

Do any of the above apps need more power (for want of a better word ) than others to run :)
Like some PC Antivirus programs, some would slow down a PC.

Not really as it depends on device power

OK, so the better powered the device the better it will handle it.

Ive got to like the X96 Mini 2GB+16GB Android 7.1 TV Box because its cheap and to me it looks to be doing the job, but perhaps there are other cheap boxes that would do a better job, what's your thoughts?

Thanks BTW.
