Dreambox 800SE Sim Card

Found a well known site selling SIM cards for the dreambox 800SE - was wandering if anyone knew what these SIM cards do?

I think you mean memory cards,Sim cards are for mobile phones,A memory card is like a usb stick,It allows to to save data on it,Some boxes have little slots that will allow you to use them like a hard drive for recording programs,You can go up to 128 GB maximum really,still a nice little option on your box

if its a memory card make sure they have not upped the price just because they have advertised it as for dreambox as you should be able to use any branded memory card in it

It's basically a security measure. The SIMs are reverse engineered from the DM originals and once upon a time the clones could run the same images without any patching but those days are gone with 2.1. SIM 2.1 has lots of support and works just fine. A8P is supposed to support the offical images

This explanation sounds right. So why are they being sold? Is it so you can put the sim in a clone and make it work with the images?

you can flash origanal images whith that sim
