retro gaming

hey guys!

dunno if this is the right section to ask this but anyone into retro gaming?

just bought myself a sega mega drive and its taken me right back to when i was a kid.

Bought an proper disc for the Xbox 360 a few years back which had about 15 retro Sega games on it, good memories great fun!

I'm sure most of you guys are aware, but these days you can play all of your 8 bit & 16 bit games on your laptop or even a cheap android box through an emulator. Other games can be played as well, N64 or even PS1 for example on a half decent android box or older games from the early console or home computer days.

Controllers are cheap and you can download all the games you can remember. I like to play but don't get much chance.

You can even buy something like a raspberry pi already set up - Retro

One the xbox one there is a disk called Rare replay which goes back as far as spectrum games too. Cost about £10 I think.

Still have my Dreamcast alongside Xbox One.
Blue led mods, Akura box hd box (HDMI hd gaming), Arcadestick, Ps4 thumbstick mods.
Did battery mod to stop having to do bleeding date on every power up.
Crap load of back up's, many i did 15 year ago and all locked in a softcase, all perfect still.
Gaming is sweet now, no more blocky 90's action, all smooth and sharp on large lcd.

Still got a rubber keys spectrum 48k in the garage and also a spectrum 128 +2 and plus 3. I remember my cousin having something called an aquarious and load of mates started with vic20's. I bought one of those sega mega drive packs last christmas with 80 games in it but when you put it on a modern tv most of the games look shite. I now think they have brought out a hdmi version that must improve things.

Ah memories. I'm old enough to remember when the first Star Wars game came out in the arcades. People were going nuts cos it was the first 3D game ever invented. :)
