hi mate , i take it you mean streaming video content etc , there are a couple of methods , i use windows media player through my network works like a charm , xvid files music pictures etc , you have to enable sharing and then add the folders you want to share , will be more specific if you need

I find the most stable way to stream media is to use TVersity, for me WMP setup kept losing connection or failing to load media types, use in conjunction with K-lite full codec pack for best results.

personally i dont use anything, i have the network set to private on my laptop, file sharing is on, my music and videos are in music and video folder or store them on your desktop.

on the xbox go to my xbox, then scroll across to my music r my videos, you should see the name of your computer when you select my video or music, select it and it will search for folders containing any music or films you have stored on your computer according to the selection you have made.
