New Skybox F3S/F4S/F5S SW with full working EPG Record function!

Great news the newest SW update for F3S/F4S/F5S has a fully working EPG which you can use to record tom using just the OK button. New SW also includes PICON so each channel now shows channel Icon! I've tested and can verify it all works perfectly. for Official software....

the f6 will probably not be supported and ceertinaly do not use this software on it as it will brick your box. rember the f6 is a clone it is very difficult to find support
 
All the posts I have seen just mention the "S" type boxes
so as far as I know F3 and F5 not supported at the mo.
 
I do have this option with my Skybox F5s. I have not tested it yet since the dongle is accommodating the only USB port, apparently it downloads the EPG online and save it to the USB, however it may have to be repeated for every new channel you visit and want an EPG for?

I tried to access the network app which shows the EPG and it would not go further until a USB storage device was plugged in. It seems as though the EPG data will be downloaded to the USB stick and therefore without it, it won't work.
 
Have you made this work properly? Is this stable? I wouldn't mind put my USB all the time in the box if it means I get can up to date EPG for 7 days?
 
I have not tried this, I did come across it as my box has the latest firmware installed. But I'm not too bothered about the EPG so didn't venture into finding out whether it works or not, but it did look promising.

I will see if I can get this working later if I can find my WiFi bridge, otherwise I'm sort of restricted with the one USB port.
 
Hi Guys just seen this update, i would ask this, if you have to have your Memory stick in 24/7 is order for it to work, then how will you plug an external drive in for recording.

I've been using the latest SW for a few days now and it works really well. The 7 day EPG is a huge improvement on recent efforts as you can now select any upcoming programme to record with one click of the OK button (just like Sly!)...

Yes you do have to have a hard drive in at all times for the PICON to work as it sees the images stored from there and not on your Skybox.

All in all i'd say this latest update makes this £50 box a no brainer and who knows what else they might add in the very near future!!
 
I guess that answers that then. :)

So does the EPG info store on the box or USB? AS my EPG function app would not work unless a storage device was connected..
 
i wonder how it works when updating i know on the vu range the 7 day epg is very memory hungry
