I've set up my Zgemma Star H2 and it's working fine on both Cable and Sky UK. I've got a motorised dish with a single cable to LNB, and would like to set it up to receive other foreign satellites. Can someone help me with the setup or suggest a suitable link to a tutorial.

Hi guys and gals,

Hoping someone can please show me the errors of my ways.
Managed to do the flash eventually (wouldn't do it automatically when booting up. I had to do it manually through the menu) but when I try to put in my nline code I don't have the options that's in the idiots guide. I have ts media which doesn't contain anything about file explorer.

Cheer

Try the ftp method download filezilla client version on pc

Idiots Guide for adding your line with Filezilla
On your Box Menu > Info> Network > Get your box IP address
Open up Filezilla Host (top left ) Type in IP address Username root Leave others blank Press Quickconnect
Box should then connect to computer Left side computer, Right hand box
For N lines
On right hand side locate usr Double click it Then Keys Double click It You should now see 2 files Mg and Newcamd list On Newcamd list Left click/right click Then click View/Edit ( It may ask you what program you wish to view the file choose Notepad) You will see 2 samples of what your lines should look like either edit your line details or Delete up to CWS = (space either side of = )
Copy and past your line Less the N: in its place*
Disconnect from Filezilla By Clicking the X just under bookmarks top of page
Press blue button on remote control >.Softcam Manager Select Mg 1.38 and start cam Restart box (not with GUI)
For C lines*
Instead of usr/keys on box Your line goes Complete with the C in the Ect folder on box and select CCcam and start in Softcam manager and restart box
Hope it helps

Now ready to scan for channels - how many "feeds" does your box have?
To do EPG and bouquet stuff you need 2 feeds.
If you have 2 feeds (which a typical Sky HD box will have), ignore the section below.
if you havent got 2 feeds, with the default settings your scans will fail giving an error message, so if you live in a flat etc and only have one feed do the following now: (if you ever get a second feed you will need to re enable it by reversing the below and do the scans again).
Go into menu, set up, service searching, tuner configuration.
go to tuner b, press ok, then in the next screen at Configuration mode, disable it by choosing Not Configured. Press ok then green to save then red to exit. You need to reset the box to take effect, and as a bonus, the line details you just entered will start running with the same restart.

Hi RustyMG, on this point from your post (which is great by the way! - Thanks), I only have one feed coming from the satellite dish outside the house. Does that mean that I can't proceed after the bold part? i.e. I can't install channels, epg menu etc?

My problem is that the cable from sat dish goes in to attic, and then a single cable is running down the inside of the walls of the house therefore I don't have a second entry point without tearing open walls etc.

Thanks!

? Erm, do exactly what it says after "...if you.....only have one feed do the following now:" and follow the rest of the guides instructions 👍

Ah ok, thanks Rusty, I interpreted "To do EPG and bouquet stuff you need 2 feeds" to mean this was a MUST and was mandatory.
I will proceed tonight - wish me luck, I will post back results.

Actually, while I am on the subject, do you know of any option available to me to get around this limit that I have only one line so I can record/ watch separate channels or do I have to go dropping new lines into the house?

Thanks man!

with only one feed to the box you will have limited recording ability, you CAN NOT watch one thing & record another on a different channel as that requires two feeds but I think you can still record on the channel you are watching or set it to record while you are out, I also think the box can still maintain EPG info as long as you do as the guide says....change tuner B in settings to not configured or you will get a tuner error.

If you want to get the best out of your twin tuner you really should look towards getting two feeds to the box

Hi anyone that can spare a minute!

I'm new to all this, however after much reading I have USB flashed my ZGemma-Star S box, got the channels and EPG setup and even managed to change the bootlogo that appears on boot up/startup, to something more suitable!

However, I have a Cline which I've transferred to the ZGemma box using filezilla, yet I'm only getting the normal channels. I have pasted the C: ***** etc. into the ETC/CCcam.cfg file, but to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas? Do I also need to edit the newcamd.list in /usr/keys or should these be blank or perhaps not touched at all? Maybe it's a dud Cline, however I ran it through a testing site and it said it was okay (maybe I'm naive?!)

I think I'm pretty close here, so if anyone can help me over the line I'd welcome any useful advice.

Thanks
