openbox v8s offline

Hi my Openbox is saying offline constantly the guy I got the gift of is sayong everything is good at is end what can be the problem

Have you tried removing and reinstalling your line?

I have done it numerous times know still saying offline the guy I bought it of is saying everything is fine at is end

What about your internet connection. Are you using ethernet? Can you do anything like a channel update to test it?

You can try turning your router off and on. Sometimes that works with my V8S when this happens.

Yes connected by Ethernet iv restarted my router a few times know as well as powered the Openbox down still says offline just tried a testline of a guy on here and that is even saying offline I am gonna try a new Ethernet cable see If that is the problem or change my router I have the bt hub 5

Parr88 did you find a solution - was it a faulty Ethernet cable? I have the same issue here - working on Wifi but not on ethernet even though the cable works fine with laptop...

Bren, have you ever had this working with Ethernet? If not I would send it back and ask for a replacement. I'm thinking there maybe a bad batch with dodgy Ethernet ports.
Seems to be a spate of these boxes with this issue.

Garyth, I only got it yesterday but I had intermittent Ethernet issues with the F5 which is why I got the V8. Have a new Ethernet with me so will test later to see one way or the other. Box works fine over Wifi.

Ok, it was a bad Ethernet cable. Tested new cable and working perfectly. Hope this thread helps others....
