Hi All,
Decided to purchase one of these 4K’s from SatKing as I’ve interest in this thread. I’ve my Solo2 set up on a motorised dish so hopping back and forth to the Viark trying to set it up for USALS and to load a channel list. I’m a little confused with the base image thats the box, is there a secret menu or is there another image/firmware that has to be flashed? To load the data needed?
I appreciate any responses on my query.

Or you could just use you solo 2 to drive the motor. Use a simple splitter to split the cable going to the motor. I've done that with the solo 4k.

Thanks for your reply kegnkiwi mate, I’d hope the 4K could do this without out splitting cables and adding switches.

To get the best out of the box you need to install a custom firmware check the download section for latest version or google is your friend.

What extra customs fees did you have to pay to purchase from Germany?

Youll need to load the latest firmware 1.12

That will then activate the server and thats it really other than scanning all the sats.

Does your solo2 have a loop out on the tuner ? I dont remember if it does or not. And @kegnkiwi is correct once you have you coordinates in you have to turn usuals on for each sat position.

If it does just loop that into the Viark. Only have one powered up at once.
 
Ok guys, I think I've bricked the box while flashing the firmware...😢
It lost power for second as I accidently stretched the lead.
Right now just says "BOOT "on the box and no source on TV.
Anyone encounter similar or have a fix??:flushed:

You can try unplugging, insert USB with firmware on root into front USB socket, hold down the power button then plug back in and hope it reads the USB. It may take a few attempts, failing that you'll need to recover it with a RS232 cable.

I'm actively looking for recovery firmware to do same, finding it a little frustrating at the moment.
