I have no further info Mr S so the answer is either buy one and check it out yourself, don't buy one and then always wonder, buy something else or find a technical site where someone cares about the intricate workings of a £40 pirate satellite box can give you or feed you the bs that you think you need to know---I don't know and really don't care. It's a set top box that works well--thats enough for me and most users.

Yes listen to the Reaper he is talking a lot of sense .

just to add my tuppensworth, has anyone finally managed to sort out all their favs lol .I'm still sorting but if anyone can just get a cable channel list up and running it would be so much easier

I'm doing my best but all takes time with a new box, but there is an editor available allowing you to use a usb key and pc.

FFS, Reaper it took me a week to work out how to move channels in favs lol then Shieldsy came to the rescue. Its just a pitty that you have to do so much just to get the box to the "I'm Happy with it" stage

No thats called tinkering lol
All my 3 boxes are up running and giving me channels to watch----that's my family happy.

thanks reaper for the v8 pro box, excellent value for money and easy to set up would recommend getting one if anyone is looking around for a box

Hi Reaper thanks for box arrived quickly, easy to finish setting up, most of it already done by yourself. Can you let me know the default password please, I wish to change a few of the settings (ie childlock etc) and it asked for a 4 digit code.

After originally having a openbox v8s I decided to try the openbox v8 pro and I have to say it's a great value box ,which after some playing around with the settings I'm now running sat and vm (HD).
although no channel list as yet , you can put your channels in favourites so easy to browse the channels :-)
all in all its a great box for a great price

Hi war do u have instructions how to setup with vm cable.

Set up instructions are in post No65 this thread.
4 digit password for all boxes is set by me to 0000
