iptv player plugin error

Uninstalling iptv player fromplugins/extensions does not remove the Iptvcache folder and it's saved settings for the earlier version. You would need to remove the Iptv cache folder from your hdd/usb stick as well. Best done using dream explorer which can be downloaded from plugins/extensions. Even once this has been done some residue of the original will be hidden away in various places on your box. I have managed to get mine up and running and updating again by uninstalling iptv player and deleting the iptv cache folder from hdd using dream explorer. Then reboot and reinstall

Nope it's not working still getting same error message when trying to update and questions that won't do anything when clicking yes..... deleted iptv player rebooted then deleted cache then rebooted reinstalled iptv then rebooted... still same problem... so frustrating

Not sure what u mean by image.... but in image info it says openATV? Model zgemma H.2s. Version 5.3. Sly 1 hd v4.011 wooshbuild v4.002

It is an old version of wooshbuild using atv 5.3 so the newer iptv player version may not be available in the feeds. The latest wooshbuild is 7 something and I believe it is based on OpenAtv 6.1 so would be worth updating. I can have a look around and see if I can find a new stand alone version of iptv player you can try, However bear in mind it could crash your box and you would need to reflash. It may be worth asking in the wooshbuild section whether it is safe to update online from your current version to latest version which would get you the updated iptv player. It may be too old an image but worth asking, as a rule make sure you have a back up of any sub on your box be that sat line or iptv provider before you mess with it.

Same problems here as stated before. It was still working till I tried updating it via the package manager just hadn't been able to connect to update server for about a week. Uninstalling and reinstalling just gives version 150.01.00.00 which was before they started using dates for versions. Cannot find a recent ipk anywhere. Any chance of someone uploading their version.

Btw using openatv myself.
Also the site iptvplayer.pl is down now as well. Not sure if that's where the update server was located

Yes please if you don't mind that would be great. I'll give anything a go... what do reflash mean? Sorry for the 50 questions.... this is way out of my league this IT stuff. So thank you for the support. Really appreciate it.

Just do a search on forum for wooshbuild there are instructions for flashing in the support for wooshbuild. Once you have had the life scared out of you by reading about it, reread a few times and it will make more sense. The first time you do it it is quite scary but once done you realise it is not so bad. In the meantime I will go searching for the plugin

Thanks for looking for the plugin. I've searched all the places I can think of. I do have it on a box that's not here so I may be able to get to it in a couple of days though to be honest not entirely sure if you can copy a plugin from the box into a memory stick.

Sorry for delay can't find a very recent ipk of iptv player. I use plain open atv 6.1 and have used the following commands in putty to download and install latest version. Bear in mind I cannot guarantee this will work with any other older image. Each line has to be copied and pasted into putty one line at a time followed by pressing enter give it a second or two until the prompt flashes again, then copy and paste next line and press enter again so on and so forth till box reboots ( I had to do this entire process twice as I had failed to uninstall the previous version of iptv player) if you have already uninstalled your current version you should only need to do this process once. Do this at your own risk as I cannot guarantee whether it will work on anything other than atv 6.1 and could cause your box to bootloop and need to reflash. The commands below are from elsewhere and not my work credit to the op.

rm -rf /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPTVPlayer
cd /tmp
wget http://iptvplayer.vline.pl/download/update/latest.pythonX.X.tar.gz
tar -xzf latest.pythonX.X.tar.gz -C /tmp
rm latest.pythonX.X.tar.gz
cp -r iptvplayer-for-e2.git/IPTVPlayer /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/IPTVPlayer
rm -rf iptvplayer-for-e2.git/IPTVPlayer
sync
reboot

Thanks for all your hard work. I was able to download the tar.gz file from your link then ftp'd the iptvplayer folder that's inside it into the plugin directory on my box. Worked perfect and it updated all the little plugins that help the streaming and it also updated to the 2018.01.23.05 version. (Lol seems he's updating the plugin in the short time I clicked to download from your link as that was 201&.01.23.04)

Sorry for waffling just really appreciate your help. Thanks again. All fixed now. P

Edit
Also I'm on openatv 5.3

Good to know it works on atv 5.3 thanks for letting others know. Also alternative way of installing for putty phobics.

Hi this has gone straight over my head... so sorry but I need idiots guide... where do i find the putty

https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html putty can be found here download version you require for your operating system on pc. Find the ip address of your receiver, menu/information/network is the way to find yours. Once putty is installed on your pc open the program and type ip address of your receiver in top bar, select telnet as connection type then click the open button which is bottom right. A window opens, enter your receivers username which is normally root and press enter. Then copy and paste each line of text in my earlier post one line at a time, press enter after pasting each individual line once you have inputted all of the 9 lines of text the box will reboot and you should be running latest iptv player.
