Failed to tune ABM

Why all? Not all areas are affected, unless we can use either.

We cannot use either. It has to be a valid frequency in the area.

ok my net id is 00002 abm gives error ..tried diff builds all the same...

so if you go to all channels or fav menu all channels still there..so yiz all no

netid glasgow
netid edinbrugh has problems aswell so wee need an update or a pull ..from reading above

Edinburgh is fine as its Net ID has been sorted by Abu I suggest if using openatv to go into info panel on you're remote ...... setup/service searching/autobouquetsmaker/delete bouquets/update provider files/green button to scan

For the ABM provider files to be updated, someone has to provide the data. Can we please check the commit log before updating config file? If 00001 was udated, and someone in 00002 has a similar issue, updating it will not change things for them.

The commit log for ABM as a whole is here
https://github.com/oe-alliance/AutoBouquetsMaker/commits/master

The commit log for the virgin file is here
https://github.com/oe-alliance/Auto...toBouquetsMaker/providers/cable_uk_virgin.xml

We have historically used the 64 QAM details because these were the data frequencies. ABM can tune on any frequency for UK cable, there is no home frequency for UK cable

The process should be as follows:
Set all Cable tuners to Virgin All systems. It does not matter what NetID you use in tuner config. You can leave it at 00000.

Clear all cable services
Up (next to OK) > Green (satellites/extended) > Highlight Cable services > menu > removes services.

Perform a non-abm scan. Manual, make sure you select complete.

Once the scan has completed, check what the details are for "Virgin TV Highlights", "Virgin Movies and store". Most skins will show you the details. Picture attached.

Qam 64 = Modulation 3
Qam 256 = Modulation 5

There are some areas with 6887 symbol rates others with 6952

Edit your ABM provider file in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/providers
Use a linux compatible editor like Notepad++ to do the editing. (Don't confuse with windows notepad. If you use a windows editor, the file is not shown correctly.)
Delete the providers.cache file
Run ABM. If it works, submit a pull request or raise an issue on GitHub. If not confident in doing so, post details on forum, someone will do it for you.

A screenshot showing the frequency will be enough. Don't post your cam details.

For some reason my box won't scan all systems

Thanks , where is
“cable_uk_virgin.xml” found please mate ?
The easy option is to update the provider file using the option in ABM.

If you want to manually transfer/edit the file, location is /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/providers

It does not scan or does not find anything?
If it does not find anything, how long did you wait? It has to go through all the listed frequencies in that part of cables.xml, so it is easy to think nothing is happening.

Thanks a lot mate, hopefully this works I'll give it a go when I get home from work tonight
Hi mate, Downloaded this and extracted it once it was downloaded tried to flash the box but it was just saying boot then loading uo without flash, ive tried 3 usb sticks any idea how i can get it on with any other build tried wooshbuild and still no picture but scans ll the channels

left it so a while and it eventually finished scan did everything else you put but ABM still wont scan just gonna have to wait until its updated. But thanks anyway

At most, 4 transponders would have changed parameters, all others will be unchanged

Yippee! I switched my tuner from dvb-c to dvb-t and connected a normal tv arial then did a manual scan and it found services. So switched it back to dvb-c, manual scanned again and it started finding services. The VM changes must've messed up the tuner somehow and switching it between t and c sorted it out. Only taken a week lol!

Not sure what the overall meaning of your post is. After the manual scanning completed, did it find channels?

If channels were found:
What is the frequency, symbol rate/modulation of the preview channels? Post a screenshot. Also state what you NetID is.

If channels were not found:
post screenshots of all your cable tuner configs
Post a screenshot of the scanning option you used.

ABM wont work for you unless the tuning details get updated. This is why you are asked to provide details of the preview channel.

some reason wont let me post a picture so this is the info on the box after a scan
666 MHz
695000
QAM256-3/4
NET ID - 41066

You are using the wrong details. UK does not use 6950, it uses 6952 or 6887. Manchester is an ex CW area, I am sure you should have decimal places for your frequency.

Anyway, I have updated the ABM file for 41066. Changed to qam256 (modulation =5).Update the ABM provider file and run ABM again.
