Stay with Firestick, its portable and can be moved from tv to tv.
A fire TV has the exact same specs as 4k firestick and the same OS.Stick with firestick or a dedicated device..alot of people don't realise that smart TVs are not that powerful to run an OS & run the TV. They have to be able to run android/OS & run the TV picture & sound but it'll lag or restart. A firestick is the option to stick with
You you run multiple apps on both devices? Would have thought the firestick performance was going to be betterA fire TV has the exact same specs as 4k firestick and the same OS.
I use android TV & fire TV which I see no difference in whatsoever to a firestick or box being plugged in.
Tivimate and all my other apps work the same as they do on a 4k firestick. and on the android tv's the same. You you run multiple apps on both devices? Would have thought the firestick performance was going to be better
only if smart tv is 4k capableQuestion what about resolution. ? , Will downloading say a smarters pro app to a smart TV , and firestick 4k , and playing 4k 3840x2160 resolution content , which one , or will they both play up to 4k regardless if it's on smart TV ,or firestick 4k ? thanks anyone.
I think the smarters for smart tvs (non android) only works if the providers has authorised their url to work with it. (they have to pay for that)Question what about resolution. ? , Will downloading say a smarters pro app to a smart TV , and firestick 4k , and playing 4k 3840x2160 resolution content , which one , or will they both play up to 4k regardless if it's on smart TV ,or firestick 4k ? thanks anyone.
Yes I think crossed lines here with members question smarters and iptv smarters pro two different apps even if using as you mentioned with smarters i think you had to get authorisation code as you did mention,I think the smarters for smart tvs (non android) only works if the providers has authorised their url to work with it. Thanks guys for all your replys, downloaded smarters pro app on my Sony A95K 4k oled works ok , watching sly uhd (IPTV ) settings in app res showing as 3840 x2160 but little disappointed in picture , ? also tried on firestick 4k same channel , but on firestick I can check what I am really recieving Resolution /data ect using ( developer tools menu app , ) which confirms recieving 3840x 2160 , bt2020 hdr10 , but cannot download this app to my TV to check that the smarters pro app is giving me same , hence the question , anyone now off equivalent app for smart TV ? ThanksYes I think crossed lines here with members question smarters and iptv smarters pro two different apps even if using as you mentioned with smarters i think you had to get authorisation code as you did mention,
once you gave them your provider details or m3u link and that was basicly for smart tv's at the time never used it but from what I have heared not the greatest of apps.
But at the end of the day does not matter as I did mention your devices dont matter if they are 4k if tv is not capable of playing 4k streams.
I remember on my samsung tv only fhd try and play 4k movies from vod black screen tv not capable.
So was there a difference in picture quality using tivimate, or was it the same? Thanks guys for all your replys, downloaded smarters pro app on my Sony A95K 4k oled works ok , watching sly uhd (IPTV ) settings in app res showing as 3840 x2160 but little disappointed in picture , ? also tried on firestick 4k same channel , but on firestick I can check what I am really recieving Resolution /data ect using ( developer tools menu app , ) which confirms recieving 3840x 2160 , bt2020 hdr10 , but cannot download this app to my TV to check that the smarters pro app is giving me same , hence the question , anyone now off equivalent app for smart TV ? they may give different results as to way information is displayed but they cannot change source still the same streamSo was there a difference in picture quality using tivimate, or was it the same?
Yes most apps are capable of playing 4k have been for a few years also with iptv smarters you can use external players if needed VLC for examplejust update , Both very similar ( picture bit wishy washy dull lacking pop )from smarters pro app on firestick 4k ( but confirmed recieving Resolution 3840x2160 playing in HDR10 with developer tools menu app engaged on firestick 4k ) little better visible picture (bit more contrast pop ect ) using same app smarters pro on my Sony oled smart TV but have no way to confirm what actual resolution getting thru app on TV , because cannot use developer tools on my smart TV to check , so could be ? app Max's out at 1920x1080 resolution ? And that's what I am getting , Even though stream in app showing 3840 X 2160 ? Need to now if anyone now's if app or any available IPTV app currently is capable off playing full 4k streams if given one ? Thanks again guys .
Thanks again for information and your knowledge guys .4k should be no problem for most apps. You will normally find a external device is better all round.
Why did you decide to change from firestick to chromecast if you don’t mind me asking?Used firesticks for years but over the last few months have replaced them all with Chromecast apart from the main living room TV I just use tivimate app directly on the smart TV without any issues
well I do not even have google chomecast 4k device but from what I have read elsewere. Why did you decide to change from firestick to chromecast if you don’t mind me asking?
