Yep I have a vudou2 box and mate has a extrend 8500 and both very good , get twin sat tuners for the recording side , will need wifi dongle and sat line and you're sorted ......lol

Both should be fine, miriclebox premium twin + are also good

Use homeplugs to carry the internet feed to the box rather than WiFi
