Recording size help

When I'm recording the size of my recordings are huge. I recorded an hour of an sd channel and it came out as 16gb.

Any suggestions please? I have a zGemma h2s

They are sat recordings and i have two programs both an hour and they have took up 28gb on a 32gb usb stick. Both the recording are not in HD but when i recorded on BT sports 30 minutes took up the whole memory stick.
