You might want to have a look at the video produced by HeadMelted on YouTube if you are a newbie or unsure of basic installation procedures.
This is in the first post of the Support thread.

[h=2]Q1. How do I backup or restore my settings[/h]
  1. Blue button -> Backup settings
  2. Blue button -> Restore settings

[h=2]Q2. No matter what I do BaseBuild will not flash[/h]
  1. Some USB sticks just refuse to flash, it is that simple. Try and get hold of a bog standard USB stick, no frills, USB 2.0 stick. 2gb, 4gb 8gb. You can use a program called HDguru and low level format your drive, you can re-format to fat32 and you need to check the file structure of the zgemma folder on the stick.

    The file structure
    Zgemma folder
    -------------------- sh1 or h3 folder
    -------------------- 5 files

WooshBuild is designed to flash automatically from a USB port in your box. Remove any other devices you have attached or an SD card. With the USB having the zgemma folder on it, turn the box on and it should flash.

[h=2]Q3. How do I add or remove Picons?[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-4.html#post502666

[h=2]Q4. How do I change the order of channels in the EPG or edit Custom_Swap.txt [/h]
  1. WooshBuild v4+ includes the Country / Region plugin which stops the need to manually swap channels. If you are running a version prior to v4 and BBC1 and BBC2 are the wrong way around, or BT Sport HD is still on your listing, please upgrade or view this answer: http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-23.html#post512117

[h=2]Q5. How to check your satellite signal strength[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-2s/90615-wooshbuild-v3-01-zgemma-2s-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-33.html#post540800

[h=2]Q6. How do I move across the EPG categories (bouquets)[/h]
  1. With the EPG open on your screen, using the PREV & NEXT button so the remote will move you through, All Channels, Entertainment, Music, Sports etc like Sky+ used to.

[h=2]Q7. I get a message about the timeshift being at the end.[/h]
  1. This occurs when you have been on the same channel longer than the timeshift is set for. To prevent this message showing, change the duration of the timeshift.
Menu -> Setup -> Recording & Timeshift -> Timeshift Settings.
Now scroll down to “Timeshift buffer limit [in hours]” and increase the number. The larger your USB device, the larger the number you can have to store timeshift.

[h=2]Q8. Which files should I have for BaseBuild downloads[/h]
  1. S/Star/2S models -All have SH1 file structure within the Zgemma folder
  2. H/H1/H2 Models -All have the SH1 file structure within the Zgemma folder
  3. HS/H2S/H2H models -All have H3 file structure within the Zgemma folder

[h=2]Q9. I want to add a bigger device either a USB stick or external hard disk, how should I do it[/h]
  1. For ease simply put the new device into the front USB port of the box and open the initialise menu. Once initialised, Deep Standby the box, remove the old device, plug the new device into the rear port and turn your box back on.

[h=2]Q10. How do I change the update time of AutoBouquet E2[/h]
  1. Green button -> AutoBouquet E2 -> Menu button
Now look at the bottom for the schedule time. Change this to a time to suit you. Remember to save the settings. This may be by using the green button to Save, or by pressing the red button to go back. Please read your screen carefuly.

[h=2]Q11. How do I change the update time of CrossEPG[/h]
  1. Menu -> Setup -> CrossEPG -> Configuration
Look for the scheduled time and make it a time to suit you. Remember to save the settings. This may be by using the green button to Save, or by pressing the red button to go back. Please read your screen carefully.

[h=2]Q12. What is the smallest USB stick / Micro SD card I can use for recording etc[/h]
  1. As a general rule of thumb, the bigger the better. WooshBuild has always been setup with a view to someone using a 8gb USB stick. With the cost of USB storage becoming cheaper, it is however suggested to have a minimum of 16gb. A 128gb stick will work and an external HDD is even better as they are faster and larger.

[h=2]Q13. Why do I get an error message about not enough storage 300mb required?[/h]
  1. There can be a couple of reasons for this, but this FAQ answers the use of a micro SD card. You cannot flash youe box using a micro SD card alone as storage. If you don’t have a USB device plugged in, you will need to insert one to flash WooshBuild.
  2. Here is what happens when people doubt this:

[h=2]Q14. How do I make a complete backup of my box or restore a previous backup[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-32.html#post517310

[h=2]Q15. How do I add a plugin such as Kodi Direct[/h]
  1. From full screen TV press the Green button followed by the green button again. You will now see a list of sections and within those sections are plugins which are available to be added to your box. KodiDirect is in the extensions section. Highlight this and press OK. Now find the plugin you wish to add to your box and, highlight it and press OK.

[h=2]Q16. How do I do X with Kodi Direct[/h]
  1. We do not support Kodi Direct and advise using IPTV Player which is already configured and works well.

[h=2]Q17. How do I remove plugins[/h]
  1. From full screen TV press the Green button followed by the red button. You will now be presented with a list of everything installed on your box. Normally, most plugins are installed to the Extensions section. Highlight and press OK. Now highlight the plugin you want to remove and press OK. Then press OK to confirm it’s removal

[h=2]Q18. How do I alter the position of my screen or make the menus fit better[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-5.html#post502828

[h=2]Q19. The USB Cam Importer keeps telling me there is no file[/h]
  1. This can occur when you have created cccam.cfg on windows. What may have happened is that the file is actually now called cccam.cfg.cfg. This is due to Windows hiding known file type extension by default. Here is how to: http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-2s/90615-wooshbuild-v3-01-zgemma-2s-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-33.html#post540563

  2. Sinkers has created a line creator which lets you add your line details as text and creates a CCcam.cfg or newcamd.list file based on what is input. Click Here

[h=2]Q20. Change the storage location of the EPG[/h]
  1. Press the Menu button -> Setup -> CrossEPG -> Configure.
Press the left or right direction button on the remote to select your USB device.
Press the Red button (back) to return to the menu.

[h=2]Q21. How can i check ecm values[/h]
  1. Select Menu/Info panel/Softcam panel and the values are shown there, (make sure the channel is set on a subscription channel otherwise no values will be shown.)

[h=2]Q22. How do I turn on / off HDMI CEC[/h]
  1. By default, WooshBuild takes advantage of HDMI CEC (this bit which lets you turn your TV on and off with your box remote if your TV support is). The downside is that with a channel scan your TV may turn on and then off again when the scan has finished. Here s how you turn it off: http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-5.html#post502828

[h=2]Q23. How do I hide unwanted bouquets[/h]
  1. Press the TV button -> Highlight the unwanted bouquet -> Menu -> 8 -> yes
  2. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-25.html#post512572

[h=2]Q24. Does flashing my box remove all existing data[/h]
  1. Yes, but only what is on the box, not the USB device. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-21.html#post511006

[h=2]Q25. My line / channels have stopped, how do I restart them[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-21.html#post511393

[h=2]Q26. How do I backup my box and restore it to another[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-22.html#post511726

  2. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-32.html#post517310

[h=2]Q27. I just went to update my software (OpenATV) online and got the following message:
Your Image is out of date! etc etc Do you still want to update? no/yes'[/h]
  1. The answer is yes. This just means you have missed quite a few updates, but as of now we have not known any problems being caused by updating anyway.

[h=2]Q28. I always have x updates available: Software Manager and CrossEPG, Bootlogo[/h]
  1. This is because if these two components are updated they will stop functioning correctly.
CrossEPG will stop working and Software manager is responsible for allowing WooshBuild to be flashed online. Both of these components have been locked so they cannot be updated.
  2. The Bootlogo update is trying to replace the new boot screens, not a chance!

[h=2]Q29. Not enough space to Flash message when trying to flash WooshBuild online[/h]
A. Occasionaly OpenATV will identify and “mount” your USB device incorrectly. This can cause the error message about “not enough space, you need 300mb”. To check that your USB has been mounted correctly, please have a look at the following solution:
http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-2s/90615-wooshbuild-v3-01-zgemma-2s-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-35.html#post542484
To get to the screen referred to in that post: Red button -> Plugins -> Mount Manager

[h=2]Q30. How to add picons to EPG screens[/h]
  1. Menu/Set up/Graphical InfobarEPG and GraphicalEPG both require the Service Title mode to be switched to Picon and Service Name setting.

[h=2]Q31. Problems with my Volume Control[/h]This seems to be an intermittent fault in Openatv V5.3

  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/96774-wooshbuild-v4-00-alpha-release-openatv-5-3-a-11.html#post547543
  2. Using the volume control then move to where volume returns(@ 85) then reduce volume by one step at a time to desired level.Using the fast movement does not seem to resolve.
  3. If that does not solve the problem then restart the box to clear the problem.
  4. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/96774-wooshbuild-v4-00-alpha-release-openatv-5-3-a-11.html#post547532

[h=2]Q32.Problems with no space on recording device[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-76.html#post548850

[h=2]Q33. I think I have found something wrong with the Slyk Skin / How do I do with my skin[/h]
  1. The Slyk look of WooshBuild is possible because of the excellent skin made by Kiddac. Any questions or problems need to be addressed in his own thread here: http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-2s/84606-slyk-1-hd-sly-skin-version-3-now-available.html

[h=2]Q34. I think I have a problem with my recordings using the plugin by grog68. Please follow the thread below and post in his own thread.[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/97690-movie-organisor-plugin-organise-your-series-recordings-into-folders.html

[h=2]Q35. I have a question regarding IPTV Player content on this build. Please follow the link to Benijofar’s blog and post in there.[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/97791-iptv-questions-relating-solely-wooshbuild-v4-00-beta.html#post549045

[h=2]Q36.Further information from previous posts can be found on the V3 thread here: http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2s/89685-wooshbuild-v3-00-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a.html[/h]
[h=2]Q37.Sky 1, Sky Living & Sky Atlantic have no program description between 7pm and 1am : [/h]
  1. CrossEPG has, for some reason, this great bug where at 7pm each night 3 or 4 channels have no EPG descriptions until 1am. This is a bug with CrossEPG and not WooshBuild

The simple solution to this is to remove the CrossEPG plugin (green button -> Red button -> extensions) and then install the epgimport from the download plugins section. You will then need to follow the setup instructions in Kiddac's bare bones guide on setting it up -> http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-2s/84949-bare-bones-openatv-new-setup-guide.html

xmltv-import is not covered by WooshBuild so any issues with it need to be asked in a separate thread

[h=2]Q38. When I type a channel number it takes ages to change channel. Can I change this?[/h]
  1. This was one of those “can’t win” situations. In previous builds the remote number pressing time delay was just the box default but people sometimes complained that it wasn’t long enough. As a result I extended the time delay via the settings so that even my mum can press the buttons and have enough time to make a cup of tea before it switches channel..

To alter the speed of the channel changing after you have type a channel number either simply press the OK button which will change the channel instantly or edit the settings to suit your needs.

Menu -> Setup -> Usage & Gui -> Channel selection settings -> Up arrow once to see where you need to change.

In here you will see you can alter quite a lot.

[h=2]Q39. I had folders on my storage device and now they have gone and the file has been moved[/h]
  1. WooshBuild v4.xxx includes Grog’s excellent movie organier plugin.

This plugin makes me very happy as your Zgemma box is now closer to an orginal Sly+ box than ever before. The Movie organiser plugin is enabled by default with WooshBuild v4 and will remain enabled as standard as getting as close to a plug and play Sly+ box is my goal.

If you have more than one recording of the same program, like a Sky+ box, the plugin will create a folder and move the recordings to the folder. Again, just like Sky, when you delete recordings in the folder and are left with just one recording, the folder is removed and the one left gets placed back in the main section of the device.

To disable the Movie Organiser please do the following:

Green button -> Select Movie Organiser -> Press the left direction button once to disable -> Green button (OK)

[h=2]Q40.Problems trying to use pause and live rewind with an HDD installed[/h]
  1. http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-2s/90615-wooshbuild-v3-01-zgemma-2s-usb-cam-transfer-plugin-basebuild-openatv-5-1-a-40.html#post550433

[h=2]Q41. How do I use my own bootscreens[/h]
  1. The newer builds use a plugin to swap the boot screens around and no matter what normal action you take it won’t make any difference except maybe adding your screen to the 8 that are already there.

To remove the plugin delete the folder called: BootLogoSwapper from within the usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions folder.

Use whatever method you are happy with. Once you have deleted it it has gone.

[h=2]Q42. How can i add new bouquets[/h]
  1. Press the favs button followed by the menu button. The next screen has options and by selecting the second one you can add a new bouquet and edit the title to whatever you want to call it.

[h=2]Q43. When I press the file list button or planner button from within the EPG the appearance has changed. I have also noticed Programme lister is in the plugins list too.[/h]
  1. This has happened because an OpenATV over the air update has put them back on your box.

Enhanced Media Centre becomes the default media player and changes how the file list is displayed.

You can remove both plugins without issues. Removal will automatically put your recordings list back to normal,

    From full screen TV:
Green button -> Red button -> Extensions -> Highlight EMC Media Centre and press the OK button.
When asked to confirm, select YES. This will remove EMC.

Do the same method of Programme Listener and Volume Adjust.

    Once removed, restart the Gui.
[h=2]Q44. How do I add a micro SD card for timeshift or recording (not 2S model)[/h]
  • Using a microsd card for timeshift can speed up your box by putting less stress on the USB device. It can also be used for recording, EPG and picon storage.

Insert the micro SD card in the side slot and may see a popup message about no playable files. You can ignore this.

Press the blue button -> Harddisk -> Initialisation -> Select the Micro SD card and intialise it.

Once initialised you can then go and change storage locations such as timeshift
Menu -> Setup -> Recordings & Timeshift -> Timeshift settings -> Timeshift location. The same applies to Recordings.

Sometimes, depending on the card size, the box ill fail to initialise it. The forum has topics already covering the use and setup for SD cards, including how to do it manually on your computer.

Q45. Is Roi Sly Sports channels already on this build

  • Yes, they are located in the sports bouquets and are names RoI

By running the WooshBuild Country / Region plugin you will always be up to date* when new channels are available, moved or need renaming. (give me chance to add it though.)

Q46. How do I manually set my Record & Timeshift locations

  • Menu -> Setup -> Recording & Timeshift -> Recording settings -> Location.

This as a general rule needs to be set to /media/hdd/movie. Even if it says that already, press OK on the location and manually go through the devices and folders to highlight the movie folder on your usb device, then press the green button to select it. (DON'T open the movie folder) then press green again to save.

  • Menu -> Setup -> Recording & Timeshift -> Timeshift settings -> Location.

The instructions above apply to timeshift too.

Q47. I can’t create CCcam.cfg or newcamd.list files to paste my line details into

  • Sinkers has written a great line creator program for your computer which lets you add your line details as text and creates a CCcam.cfg or newcamd.list file based on what you input. Click Here to download

By simply pasting your line details into the program, your line can be saved directly to USB or your hard disk. Putting it on your USB is ideal for sue with th USB Cam Importer plugin.

Full credit to Sinkers for this great tool.

Wooshman,

Reading previous Q&A for full backup to USB & restore it references a zgemma.zip file.

I did this last night and I got two additional files on the USB:

1. Zgemma folder containing normal setup files (sh1 > imageversion/kernel/noforce) but norootfs or splash files
2 fullbackup_zgemmas2s folder containing a time/dated folder, which contained a zgemma folder as with normal setup files as above

None of them were zipped...

I highlight this as I have then tried to flash a different box with these backup files and it just stays on flash until there removed.

Is something not working correctly in the back up process which is affecting the usability of the backup files to flash another box?

The zgemma folder is the one of interest, I am not sure why OpenATV decided to create a fullbackup_boxname and then not delete it.

I don't think I have ever said it will zip the zgemma folder for you when doing a backup. That is something you would do manually if you wanted to.

With the USB stick with the zgemma folder you simply put it in the second box and turn the box on. The front LED will then say USB and UPDT, now is the time to press the front power button which will cause the fromt LED to display FLSH.

The reason you have to press the front power button is because in the zgemma\h3 folder is a file called noforce. If you rename this to force it will flash automatically on turning the box on.

Nothing wrong with the backup or flash procedure, they are both standard openATV features.

Hi I was wondering if one channel was missing I used to get Sky sports 5 Ireland which shows 1 3pm game every Saturday this doesn't seem to be on the build?

Nothing to do with the build.
This is controlled by ABE2.
I have just checked mine and it is still there.
I suggest you rerun the plugin and also crossepg to see if it comes back.
If not then let me know which country/region you have set and i can check for you.

901ennud... Woosh isn't responsible for the skin updates. Although Every time he does a new release he uses the latest version of my slyk1hd skin. You can manually update the skin anytime you like. Just visit the skin section of techkings. Find my slyk 1 hd thread and follow the instructions on my first post on how to install. Sly planner mod is available in my dropbox from that thread. (sorry on phone. So can't post a link for you)

Then i'm guessing you're running an older version of Wooshbuild with no channel swaps icnluded ?
Flash V4.002 and they should all come back after running ABE2 and Crossepg.

I had a programme on series link, but no longer want it.

Deleted it, but it is still recording each episode, how do I remove this permanently, am I missing something?

Go into menu/timers/auto timers/ select the timer to delete then press green to save

i cannot double check at present as i'm running Wooshbuild V5 test progs at present.
Check your hdd usb that it has a swap.txt file on it.
Delete epg.dat from the hdd usb and then rerun AB2E/Crossepg again and see if that solves it.
If neither of those work then i suggest you reflash V4.002 again as there may be some corruption in your current build.

Hi could somebody help i have followed the instructions several times to put wooshbuild on my zgemma 2s i get to the end where i put the line on and still no premium channels i check on dream box and the line is there but no channels the line is working as i have check it on another box

Green button/dreamexplorer/usr/keys and check line details in there ?
If they look ok then set channel on sly sports 1 and go into red button/softcam panel and check cam is set on mgcamd 1,38r1 (newcamd) or cccam 2.3 (cccam.cfg)
Press green restart button to try and restart.

Can't quote your post on page 1 for some reason.

When I was getting the message about handling time shift, everything still worked, I got a picture in the background and would just press exit and could view as normal, only got problem when changing channel.

Took old USB out, put in new formatted one. Was able to change channel and stopped getting message, all EPG info was there.

Press green to take me to plugin browser, but there was no option for initialising USB.

"USB cam importer
Wooshbuild auto bouquets country / region
Auto bouquets E2
Crossepg downloader
Etc etc..."

So I exited, went into mount manager to see if it was " /media/HDD" ... It wasn't, so changed it to that, box done system reboot, and then booted up with no picture, only FTA channels.

Reverse whole process by putting in old USB, but nothing still, even after reboot.

Think I may have to flash box again and just start fresh ...

Hi Everyone,

I have previously been using the sucmnsee build on my H2S. I have just re flashed my boxing using the Wooshbuild after doing this I am unable to connect to the wireless dongle. does anyone have answers on how to fix this?

Have you tried going to menu/setup/system/network/device setup/network wizard, if it scans for wifi then it's installed and just need setting up

Hi

I currently have an H2S running build 4.x, I am thinking of swapping to an H2H to get the mix of sat and cable, I have looked for a 4.x build for the H2H but am not able to find one, I guess my question then is - "is there a version available for the H2H and if so where, also if there is a build available would be be effectively the same as my current on the H2S.

Many thanks in advance

Ian

The H2S image works fine on the H2H but you will need to remove ABE and use ABM to use the VM option i think. Cannot remember the full details but I am sure some sage will pass on the correct info :bye:

Hi, is the download missing from dropbox, I click on the download button on wooshbuild.co.uk but I get error 404 file not found? Or do I have to have a Dropbox account?
