Thanks to everyone that offered advice. Tried all your suggestions and with a little perseverance the S/W downloaded this morning! Cheers!

Happy chappies on Monday..? then i realised i was in KV half of the forum and not the other one..! All friendly banter here says me and my mate "null" who i think could be quite busy coming up to xmas..! And wheelywheely watched his live football...priceless..!! (so was your match "scrambled or no video" free or just the odd one here and there..? ) ps Motogp is just not the same on BBC2 (SV)..sorry Hiteck... no excitement when Lorenzo went airbourne in style in the wet but nearly saved it... !

Primetime channel was also on..it had been showing the polish prem league awhile ago (well they were playing in warsaw...! and diving alot..!! ) and also had a results round up thingy..!! May see the Ricky Hatton fight thats being advertised now if we are lucky..!

Top drawer wheelywheely... We help out in this half of forum.. no slander or name calling.. just free tv and all your "null modem cable"queries answered by specialists.... So if anyone asks you..(as an ex SV customer could be alot..haha) i keep getting "download not requested" send them to us.. we dont charge..!! and even have a send and return scheme for the suicidal ones (my mate Allyb in Tobermory..!!) Not suicidal in that sense but yes it is not a happy household when you cant watch peppa pig..!
 
flash an new box with an old one

hi am thinking of buying another kv box can i just conect it to my old one to flash or do i need computer

2. Right click on "My Computer"
3. Select "Properties"
4. Click on the "Hardware" tab
5. Click on "Device Manager"
6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)"
7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your 9 pin serial socket is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.)
8. Go back to loader, (loader) and make sure it is looking at the correct port.
9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected


Follow my advice to step 7. Locate your serial (port *)

Right click on that port and select properties. Then select port settings, then select advanced. At the bottom of that tab will be a drop down box with the port selected (port * in your case). Use the drop down to select another port (eg 1, 2 or 3). If the port you want to use is already allocated to something else, you can use the same procedure to reassign that port after you have finished.

Save the selections in the usual way. The USB converter will be permanently assigned to the port you selected.

does kryptview a780 risk our online security???????????? since we are always viewing it through the internet connection?

If you have a "null modem cable" then yes you can use your box as a master and the "new" box as a slave.. In the "stickys" at beginning of KV page second one down.."Tricks and tips" there is the box 2 box method..Menu.. Install..0000..Data download...( have master box facing you and slave box away from you... both boxes need to be ON )..press ok then switch off slave box then back on again and the download bar shoukd start moving..repeat for channel data transfer..then press exit on completion..just done one yesterday and now its got 11/11/2012 software..if it dont work.. you have a RS232 cable instead of a "null modem cable"... Ted

I wouldn't worry mate, bigger fish out there.
I would have thought a single user isn't worth bothering about from their
point of view, haven't heard of anyone with a knock on the door at this level,
an this stuff has been going on for years one way or another
 
My Kryview stopped working. no channels and signal quality is 0. S/W says 'already exist'. Setting are correct for NTL. Also only brings up easy installation menu. Swithing off and on system and router hasn't worked or selecting reset. Any ideas anyone?

Jayj200.. Have a look down the different threads first with what you have and see if any suits you or are near..What model number,s/w date you have. do FTA channels work..have vermin got network issues etc.. be a bit more precise or the seniors will tell you off..!!
 
Hello im having a problem and i am new to this. i have a kryptview a750 and i
have flashed it using the loader using A750_FW_V4.01.00_For_ModuleUpdate and
when i connect it to the icconector it say module update and then it changes to
module update FAIL. Im stuck i only have 2 light on the i connector and dont
know what to do please help

Does this bin file work cos im having problems locating it so if anyone has pls post asap..
also is there a way to connect the box and recieve a live feed strictly thru wifi or lan connection and without using cable ariel ports?

i got the A780 box, trying to make it work

First problem is you have flashed the box with the module update firmware, which is intended to go on the module and not on the box, there is two different files one for the box the other for the module
 
yes it works all files are in downloads.
A780-Apr2012.bin - Downloads - TechKings

you need a coaxial connection to vm to scan for channels and an internet connection to open the channels,if you dont have 2 box will not work.

for the 780 0nly then a software update by remote to update it to the latest.

The file is below for you to load to your box this is the April 2012 file, after you put this on do a net update to bring the box up to 11/11/12

APRIL 2012 FILE HERE

You need both cable and lan feed for the box to work
