CABLE H2H - biohead image

The MGcamd service (or indeed the Zgemma) will use the details within the line to connect to the correct server in order to obtain necessary decryption details. It will therefore always require an internet connection all the time you want to watch something encrypted :-)

Hi Guys I'm having issues, got an issue with the my H2H box after installing the V Skin. For some reason after flashing and installing my line and changing network ID to Stoke 41063 I and do a scan I still don't get any channels. I can get terestrial channels but non of the Virgin channels ie SKY one etc do not work. Could anyone give me some pointers.

I'm also getting when I scan freeview on on ABM that it has tuner time lock?

Your line is not working, that was my issue.

Are you connected to the internet? Is your line in the correct location and in the correct format? Are you running mgcam in the softcam options?

Apologies if you know all this already as I have only learnt myself after issues I had:)

Can you upload a screen shot of your providers settings? Also is the cable plugged into an rf adapter it sounds like your scanning terrestrial_uk_freeview not cable

also check your using the latest image from here http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2h/94055-biohead-image-openatv-5-3-vskin-cable-only.html

VM Cable feed should be connected to Tuner B, not Tuner A. You need a Coax-to-F connector adaptor - you can get them for about a fiver instore, or less on ebay.

Make sure your ethernet cable is hooked up to the router/modem.

Change to your area:
Menu>Setup>Service Searching>Tuner Config>Tuner Settings>Tuner B this should be configured to DVB-C for cable
Change NetID to your area
"Disable Tuner A"
Menu>Setup>Service Searching>AutoBouquetsMaker>Providers
Change the area number in ABM to your area (default is 00013 Reading).
Press Green, and go to "Start Scan" - it should delete the existing bouquets then get the ones for your area.

Newbie to all this so forgive me if I sound silly, Looking to buy a Zgemma H2h and set it up myself. I have a few questions I am hoping you can help with.

I am currently paying for Virgin Media Broadband, I used to have TV aswel but have canceled my TV subscription but I still have my Broadband and my line in and the Coax cable that used to plug into my Tivo box.
Will I need to buy anything other than the Zgemma H2h box and a Coax-to-F adapter to get this up and running ? (I understand the H2h is the way to go as I have a Cable feed not a sky dish ?).

My other question is, Would I have to pay any subscription fees to watch all the channels/ HD Channels and sports or is it a case of set up and go ?

Also how reliable are the channels on this ? I am looking at getting one of these because I recently set up KODI and trying to watch live sports/ tv is very tedious and at times near impossible.

Thanks in advance :)

Yes the H2H is the right box and all you need apart from a Line.
You will need to buy a line to get the box working.
These are very reliable assuming you get a line from a good supplier.
Kodi is shit for live sport. It's a 30 quid box and you get what you pay for.

Hi I've ordered a zgemma h2h boxes from ebay which is coming on Monday. From the pictures it shows the Vm display of channels and 12 months warranty, which I originally thought was 12 month gift like the rest of the sellers items. So when it comes I don't think it will be set up or have any codes for it. Can anyone help me of where the best place to get 12 months gift and an easy guide of how to set it up ? Will be the first time I've had one of these boxes, would be greatly appreciated thanks :)

They cant call them gifts on ebay anymore as ebay want to no what gift your giving thats why they say warranty.
Your box should arrive set up.
Well half it will have code in but wont be set for your area.
My opinion bad move buyin pre done boxes from ebay your (warranty) will last a month you may be lucky and get 6 weeks.

Maybe should have came here first before I bought one. Will see what it's like when it comes and how long it lasts then ill probly have to come here for advice on getting it working again.
Thanks!

Cheers for this biohead. Took a while to get done but got there. However I still cant forward and rewind but I think its an issue with my usb. Thanks for a great build and good instructions.

hi,
I have installed the image and the box is up and running. However when i try to install kodidirect I cannot start the app.I have removed and reinstalled but no luck.
I suspect it is not installing correctly but can see the message when i install it as it flashes too quickly to read.
I had this working previously, but had to reinstall as i did a software update which stoppoed the h2h booting!

Thank you

After a bit of advice off anybody if possible. For some reason after installing the image with vbolt skin my control no longer works to control the volume or mute button. Iv heard it may be a glitch and I also read about this somewhere else and I'm sure someone had a solution but I can't for the life of me find the thread again.
Does anyone know a solution. Cheers

CABLE H2H - biohead image - OpenATV 5.1

LATEST 5.3 IMAGE CAN BE FOUND HERE: http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-h-2h/94055-biohead-image-openatv-5-3-vskin-cable-only.html

Below is for my old 5.1 based backup for reference.
Right guys, it's my turn to add something back to the community. Please go easy - it's my first go at this and I've probably made a glaring error somewhere! :beg:

Almost all the backup images for the zgemma boxes are setup for Sat. What I've tried to do, is create a very clean base image for us cable users. Huge thanks to Kiddac for his quick and easy guide to setting up an E2 box!

Download link at the bottom

- ZGemma H2H
- Based on OpenATV (updates work!)
- Cacheflush
- XMLImport + Rytec
- EPGRefresh (using PVR_EPG channel)
- Autobouquetsmaker
- RedHD skin (with plain bootscreens)
- EPG setup to save to external drive and load at 5am
- mgcamd 1.38

***How to Install + Setup*****

Flash as usual:
Extract the ZIP file to the root of a USB drive.
Turn your box off.
Insert USB into the port
Turn box on - front should say FLSH.

Get your line on. Image uses MGcamd, so newcamd.list format required (CWS =)
FTP your newcamd.list in to /usr/keys

Change to your area:
Menu>Setup>Service Searching>AutoBouquetsMaker>Providers
Change the area number in ABM to your area (default is 00013 Reading).
Press Green, and go to "Start Scan" - it should delete the existing bouquets then get the ones for your area.

***Things to do after install:***

If not already done, initialise your SD/USB
Menu>Setup>System>Storage Devices>Initialisation>Your Drive>Press Red
Once done, it's recommended to convert to Ext4 (but not required)

Double check Recording & Timeshift will save to your drive. If not, change it to your drive.
Menu>Setup>Recordings & Timeshift>Timeshift Settings>Timeshift Location
Menu>Setup>Recordings & Timeshift>Timeshift Settings>Autorecord Location
Menu>Setup>Recordings & Timeshift>Recording Settings>Default Movie Location

Double check EPG will save to your drive. Change if required.
Menu>Setup>EPG>Settings>EPG Location

It should be a case of flashing the image, add your nline (newcamd.list and mg_cfg), configure autobouquetsmakers for your area and off you go. It's pretty much a working base image with no extras - additional software will have to be installed yourself. You MAY have to swtich the EPG save location to your SD card rather than internal flash.

Things to check when you install:
Make sure swap is enabled and autostarts
Double check timeshifts + recordings are configure to SD card
EPG saves to SD card.
Most of these should be ok, but if it's the first time you're using the box the SD card likely isn't setup yet.
This is the very first time I've done this, so there might be a few issues! If you find anything, post and I don't mind trying to fix it! ROFL
I do like a clean base, but if there's any heavily requested apps I'll consider them for future releases.
