Disabling MG_CFG logging on Miraclebox.

Is there a guide anywhere for this running Openvix? Having some issues and apparently this is the soultion. I've googled and such and can't find any guide of sorts. Any help is much appreciated.

Not sure if I'm reading this right but generally you will only have so much bandwidth,

so if the kids are hammering the Xbox online or streaming Youtube vids on tables or phones
or you are downloading stacks of porn off Pirate Bay all at the same time,

it can cause your TV to glitch lol

If the problem is the other way around just stick your box on standby and it won't connect to the internet.

I see where you're coming from :). But, I have no kids the footy is on I'm browsing the web on my PC on the missus is on FB on her phone and it's glitching. This doesn't always happen and World of Sat reckon disabling logging is the solution.

Ethernet.

If you disable the cam your box won't clear the channels, have you tried another line from elsewhere ?
doesn't sound like your overloading your internet package, so could be down to your server.

Try another line and compare the results.

I'll expand a little. Box is a Miraclebox Mini+ Hybrid 1x DVB-C/T/T2 Cable/Terrestrial HD 1080p PVR Digital Receiver.
Ethernet cable connection(tried several).
Doesn't happen if no other devices in the house are using the internet.
Doesn't happen all the time, can go weeks without issue then starts up again.
Rebooting everything has no effect. Same issue with Virgin Superhub and a Netgear rooter.
Have a couple of friends using the same line provider and pretty much the same set up and they have no issue.
I emailed World of Sat (where I got the box) and they suggested disabling logging, hence the thread :).

I'll drop my provider a mail in the morning see if he can swap my line.

Yeah, I got the impression of your set up earlier, so say you have a big match on, try tomorrow or Sunday afternoon, when servers are busy.

Lots of people will be watching, so do you get glitching without using the PC and Phone ?

It's most likely to be your server or your internet package that is causing the problem.

If you suspect a fault on the box, swap yours with one of your mates for a few days and monitor it,

Another possibility is the image on your box is old and needs updating, but the last two options are less likely to be the cause.

My guess is it's probably your server.

In your mg_cfg file look for this line # Log option, summ of: the next few lines are the options the last will look something like L: { 00 } 172.16.1.1 28007 /tmp/mgcamd.log the 00 in the brackets means logging is off.

Theres a mg-cfg file in downloads from sucmnsee that has been altered to stop it hogging the Internet.
Worth a try because as bees said disabling it will make channels stop working.

No glitching at all when all other devices are off in the house ever.
It can happen at any time. Even 0300 on a Tuesday morning for example, I can be browsing the web and if I refresh a page it wil Matrix for a split second.
I have the top VM internet package and get the advertised speeds. Have no torrents running etc.
The image is the one that World of Sat put on it when I got the box in the middle of February which they claim was the latest.
Had issues from day one.

The one at the bottom of the guide here

Works on a load of boxes I have set up, never had any issues with it, is this the one you are using ?

Do you have the space station logo or the country lane logo when you boot the box from scratch ?

It's a satelite orbiting the Earth.

Think your image may be old, you may need to flash a later image by USB.

You want the country lane one.

The flash did not work, grr.

@442 appreciate the help but I have no idea what that means. Any guide I could read up on so I could give it a bash?
