Anyone that can help I'm about to move into my own place and was wondering if to buy one of these boxes and was wondering if I will need virgin or sky to make it work
Cheers

You need a virgin cable that is active to make the virgin director work

But you don't need to pay them anything to make them work

Yea pretty much
On the virgin side on their free channels you will get 1-5 sc channels

on sky, you get a good few more

If your new place has a sky dish or a VM cable coming into the house you can buy a zgemma and get channels
with sat you'll get about 100 channels but no sky movies or sky sports
if the VM cable is live (not disconnected in the street cabinet) you'll get everything

Also be aware that there are different types of Zgemma
A h2s will not get you VM channels, only sat
A sat/cable zgemma (h2h, h52 tc) will allow you to watch both as it has sat and cable tuners
