openbox v8s 7 day auto updating epg

all i done was attached a HDD (for recording) and then > EPG and time > changed it too " internet XMLTV " then XMLTV Setting > then red to update and you can also change to auto update, not sure if this is the correct way to do it but all working here :)

I installed the firmware and the channel list but there is no xml file - or is that what I am linking to via the EPG menu?

The channel list is great - very complete categories :) The firmware gives me Youporn not Youtube (Web apps don't work anyway).

I am having trouble getting the auto update for the xmltv to download and then stay populated - not just yours.

I don't know why but sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. When it works it's great - easy to skim down the lists to see if there is anything worth watching/recording. A grid view would be good.

Satellite time is now correct but xmltv time is about 5 minutes slow so I have to manually adjust my recording times as a workaround.

Auto update only works in the stand- by mode If your box is left on it will not auto update

newbie here, how do i install the epg? do i need to update my channels, or keep the ones i have and use this epg?

Format a USB to fat 32 place in back of box then menu/ system settings/ EPG and time settings/ switch from satellite to internet XMLTV on default setting/ go down to XMLTV setting ok / switch UK to auto press. Red button on remote It will then download to USB
