A Buyers Guide To The Best Box

if you want iptv and kodi type experience do not waste your time/money on these boxes just built/buy a htpc or go for a second box which is just for that function these boxes are not great at that stuff no matter if you go for the more expensive ones.

What about the Wetek box... I know its not the fastest but it has android and you can watch sky?? has anyone used it?? ps. I did look into chromebbox but its too much for me and wasted on me. My friend has a skybox thing which uses a ccam line. so thats why we were thinking of getting a VU+ box.

good spec and for the price is seems very good - i do like the vu+ but the small tv screen - gimick - so ive decided the miraclebox seems just up my alley way :-) cosmetically it looks good too, although i was looking for the miraclebox ultra but wos no longer do :-{

I tested out Wetek when it first came out it looked good on paper but wasn't that great once using it android isn't great when it comes to tv site of things and the tuners was poor this may of changed now but I don't think so other wise these boxes would be very popular.

You can watch Sly yes

Skybox is sat box that is it and they are bottom end

How much you got to spend and what is it you want to do?

Not a fan of any box that nears £300 once you have added things like hard drives I do not see the point which is why I suggest HTPC because that would be around that price for a proper powerful system which could run iptv, streaming over network and sat/cable tv no problem and will last a very long time with upgrade options.

Hi, thanks for replying. I have 300-350 now. haha. I want to watch girly channels like living, tlc, atlantic, skyone, five, e4, itv be etc. my partner likes football and sports but only watches weekends because of work. Right now we do all this via Kodi and also get a lot of movies albeit not great picture. for movies i have netflixs, prime, cinema paradise and lovefilm memberships :)

So Kodi is not important but the sky channels, sports and box office events are for weekends. I don't want to buy one of these scam gift boxes lol its a joke i rather learn and do things even if i fail thats one thing most kodi uses dont like gift box sellers.

If you are currently using Kodi then which device are you using and I take it this is the saem device you use for netflix etc?

It sounds like all you want is a sat or cable box for watching live tv is this correct?

Without know the answers to the above questions I would guess you would be fine with a cheap box like Edison or one of the Zgemma and then get a seperate gift for VM or Sly so you are looking at maybe £130-£150 and the budget you stated is nice amount but in your case I don't think you need to spend that much on a box it would be a waste.

Taking your advice thanks, going with a zgemma and keep my fire tv box?? Where is the best place to buy the zgemma and is it easy to load the gift thing?

Hi,
I am after for some advice, from someone in the know, please!

I am looking to access primarily good quality live footy with a selection of movies and other channels.
Id like to set something up in a different room to where I have a Sly HD+ package (doesn't have sports or movies)

I currently access live footy and movies via an android box with Kodi, but it often sticks and the live sport is in low quality.
I don't have cable in my street, and my Sly internet isn't great, ie about 12 meg download speed max.

Our area is just getting Fibre fitted, maybe this will help with the quality from Kodi?
Or should I get a Sat box?
As well as the sat box what do I need.
Can my Sly dish be shared between my HD+ box and any new box?

Any advice for a complete novice (myself) would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Zgemma vs miraclebox Premium

and the difference in the quality of zgemma and the miracle box is what? others like your thoughts cheers.

Zgemma 2s....

Miraclebox Premium....

My humble view...

-Miraclebox premium is faster (1300MHz as opposed to 751MHz). You will find the boot up faster going in and
out of menu's quicker. scrolling, channel flicking is fast.

-zgemma 2s is a smaller box and does not have that premium feel like the Miraclebox premium but you pay for
the quality.

-I also love the Miraclebox remote control, which is sublime compared to zgemma.

****

In a nutshell zgemma is a nice little budget box but requires a bit of patience during power cycles and especially
cold boot. Premium box looks sleeker in my set up and faster which for me gives a better tv experience.

BE WARNED...there are faster boxes available but I liked the look of miraclebox compared to VU duo 2 etc.
My next box will be the ultra Miraclebox premium.

Hope this helps!

With the zgemma noticed you quoted the 2s try looking at the H2s which is a lot faster

good spot, you right the h2s boxes are meant to be faster... can only feedback bout the 2s boxes that I have used.

Where is the best place to buy a box from? I was going to get one off eBay but the posts I have read have put me off. I think I want a zgemma h2 with a gift. Could any off you point me in the right direction.

Thanks
