Surely there must a factory default button on the router - I'm not telling you to do this, get some more info first.
But if you were to factory reset then there must be firmware for your router on the manufacturers website or maybe DD-WRT website.
Whats the make and model of your router, where did you get it from, what firmware is on it at the moment and what VPN provider are you with?
Yes there is a reset button, will check out the data,
The router is a Mikrotik , hAP AC Lite. I got it from Amazon not sure about the firmware but it says its locked to Liberty Shield but i have changed to Digibit and wondered if i can get it to work with them.
I emailed support asking for latest firmware and install guide and they have come back with:
Please see the links below with RouterOS upgrade and Quickset manuals:

This should remove anything Liberty have done and put a basic firmware image from Mikrotik.com on the router so be certain you want to do this.
Liberty will have used the basic firmware and then customised it.
If you are thinking of getting another router anyway then you may as well have a go at the one you have. By putting the default router firmware on then you will have a router that you can use fo something else or even as a bridge if you where to get another router anyway.
However, I would imagine once you put the new firmware on then there should be a VPN tab where you can enter details for your provider.
Obviously up to you though mate.
Hi Peter.Hi greg did you have any luck with this as I am having the same problem I can't even log into the router using the factory ip as I think liberty shield have changed it
No i haven't, it's been pushed aside now i have my box working perfect. :) !Have either of tried contacting Liberty to see if they will advise a way to access the router to put the manufacturers firmware back on?
