Vm signal issues

At first, I thought it was a HDU (powered splitter) that was plugged in but now, I think it's just the power supply for the RFoG node in the brown box outside ... the attenuator (equaliser) is used to lower signal strength if it's too powerful but in your friends' case, this doesn't appear to be relevant.

The first thing i'd try is a 3 way Technetix splitter as per link then go from there.

The powered HDU's from VM are designed to bring the signal levels to VM required standard but i'm not sure how or if this would work on VM's new type of install.

There has been some nationwide issues with VM also today and people have experienced some issues.

I have noticed that when switching channels it can take 5 seconds for them to come on - Sometimes 10 seconds or more if switching between categories for instance going from sport to a music channel. Then once the music channel starts working all the others are almost instant.

Here is the new settings since remove that attenuator:

Those figures are much better.

Did you put the line onto the receiver? ... is it a newcamd.list line? ... if so, did you add the CWS keepalive line?

That was simply removing the attenuator however I still don't get sky sports football hd.

I have the line in using oscam

This is what i get when i only use one splitter (removing the v6 box completely), sky sports football HD then works (the odd pixelation), figures:

ste thanks for your help so far buddy - been doing a lot of reading up over the stuff on forums and compared to other people my db power seems to be less than lots of others on here.

So the way this new setup appears to work is that the plug inside the house powers the box on the outside which is why when unplugged I lose all signal.

If this three way splitter makes no difference should i look at an HDU to boost signal or should contact be madef with VM to say that there is picture break up. To be clear even when watching Sky Sports Football HD through the cable that the engineer left which was connected to the v6 box I still get pixelation on the picture. This is with the attenuator removed as with it I got no picture at all with it connected. I am concerned the job carried out by the engineer is of poor quality.

Not necessarily poor quality as the official equipment is less sensitive and works with lower signal levels.
So the engineer will have fitted to get this to work not factoring in that it would be further split.

A hdu would probably sort this however I never like to say for certain because there are too many factors to look at before having a sure answer.

Do you sell them if I need to buy One? Was looking at the hdu 400. This set up is the fttp set up (fibre to the premise). That is what the additional plug is for it powers the fibre to coax converter outside the house. So I was thinking an hdu may fix this but as you say there could be other factors. Would it be worth reporting picture breakup directly to them and see what they say?

Without the attenuator / equaliser thing and without the V6 box - just the router and zgemma plugged in (with the 1 technetix splitter), is all ok and working?

Splitter and cables used in picture 723247790 look cheap and nasty
Try using decent quality cables and splitters.
Or buy a powered HDU which will sort out your issues

Nope there is breakup on Sky Sports Football HD - minimal but along the bottom of the screen will get pixelated and slight pixelation/glitch on the screen, still watchable although it would get annoying it happens every minute or too. It is not related to the line as the picture doesn't freeze up and then resume it constantly plays just becomes distorted or pixelated.

I have bought a better splitter which i am waiting on delivery for. Note that without that splitter just using the one supplied by VM the breakup still occurs. Which is why I am wondering do i purchase an HDU or ask the question to VM first regarding signal

Try that 5-1000mhz Technetix splitter first then go from there.

If still no joy, you could try a HDU but not sure if these work the same way on a RFoG install.

Hi just another update, inside the brown box out the front of the property I found a four way splitter (see pics) - what is this for and why is it used when only two cables are fed into it? and then it is split again inside the property
