New products - Zgemma H4 and H6

I don't need one of these but it's becoming increasingly difficult to turn down for £60... should I shouldn't I arghhhh this is hard :grin:

Probably not much more than the price of a triple tuner :)
 
Processor speed on H4 is a lot slower than the h5.2tc that's why you have to create a 256mb swap file on your hard drive for the H4 to function reasonably. I've given my H4 to my Dad and I might wait for the H7 triple cable tuner to come out or just get a H5.2TC
 
do you think they will do a triple tuner H7, an fbc tuner like the VU+ Uno4k would be nice
 
I'm just wandering if the triple cable tuner in the H4 will fit the h5 and H7 models? It appears all the H4 boxes are in Star 2s/H1 cases with stickers on the right covering the old model numbers. I sent an email directly to Air Sat asking them to clarify this and they never responded. Read into that as you will :-)
 
 
is the H4 a better box than the H2H ? ie: more powerful
if only the cable tuners are to be used ?
I was considering an H5.2tc , but cant really justify the outlay atm
 
Have just purchased H4 & will use Grog flash.
Do I need multiple line to record or would 1 decent line split to all tuners? Sorry if this is a daft question.
 
Update got box today set up with @grog68 build really impressed with layout.
As a complete novice the build instructions were clear & newbie friendly.

You may need to update the epg importer plugin as I've not had chance to do it on the H4 image yet and the sources have changed a couple of times.

From tv picture press the Green button followed by the red button to take you to 'removable plugins' Now select extensions and then once that opens select epgimport. Select yes when prompted to remove the plugin.

Now press the exit button once and then press the green button to take you to the 'downloadable plugins' list, again select extensions and then once that opens select epgimport. Select yes when prompted to install the plugin.

Now press the exit button to return to plugin browser and select EPG Importer and then press the blue button to list the sources, scroll to the end of the list and select (new) Rytec UK Sat/Virgin XMLTV (xz version). This will open a sub list, select each one and then press the green button to save.

Now press the Yellow button to download the epg. Press green button to save. You can press the exit button a few times now to return to tv, you don't need to wait for the download to complete.

No the h2h is more powerful. The H4 is all the old H1 and Star 2s chasis with and H4 sticker on the right hand side with a triple tuner bunged in them.

dont share the wrong information, h4 is not same as s or 2s, for your information even remotes does not work aswell, only new type remotes works
